Problem to get pimatic-efergye2 running

Hi,

i tried to get the plugin pimatic-efergye2 running, but i got warnings and errors, here are the logs:

My setup:
Raspberry Pi 2, DVB-T Stick with supported chip, i also installed RTL_433 and rtl_433 -Gshows detected devices.

Can someone help me?

Looks like the command line arguments either do not match with the current version of rtl_433 or one of the argument values is invalid or the the configuration file used has invalid settings. I assume the latter is the case as “rtl_tcp” is not set via command line when the plugin spawned rtl_433. So it must be set in the “rtl_433.conf” configuration file which should be located in the plugin installation directory according to what I can see in the log output. My suggestion is to set debug to true / on in the plugin settings. This way the plugin will output the command line string for the rtl_433 command which is spawned when pimatic has restarted and the plugin is loaded. Then you can copy the command line string from the debug output and execute the command directly in the command shell. Now you can easily test different rtl_433 configuration options and also check whether or not the command line options given to rtl_433 are suitable with the current version.

Unfortunately, the package maintainer does not appear to be registered on the forum and he has not enabled “issues” on github. However, you can pick his e-mail address from the “package.json” file on github to kindly ask him whether or not he still supports the package and is ready to help with you with the issue.

Is the output you posted exactly what is about by be the following command sequence /home/pi/pimatic-app/node_modules/pimatic-efergye2/bin/rtl_433 -f 433550000 -R 36 -F csv -q -l 8000? If not please post it. I am wondering about the warning on the last line "rtl_433: warning: 104 “Wireless M-Bus, Mode C&T, 100kbps (-f 868950000 -s 1200000)” does not support CSV output. That should not occur with the -R 36option.

i found a workaround

If i copy rtl_433 from a “normal raspberry install via github (outside of pimatic)” to /home/pi/pimatic-app/node_modules/pimatic-efergye2/bin/rtl_433 i get some output.

Modified string to fit my temperature/humidity sensors:

@axled Ok, thanks. As you can see the first output contains the error “rtl_433 version unknown inputs file rtl_tcp” you also get when executed by pimatic. It looks like rtl_433 is trying to pick data from rtl_tcp which probably does not make sense at all in your setup unless you have setup for “rtl_tcp” which in my understanding is tcp server to make the sdr signals available on the local network. May be you need to specify the source using the “-d” option, e.g. to demand rtl_433 accessing the USB device directly. If the dongle is represented by /dev/ttyUSB0, for example, trying to -d 0 to the command line. See also https://github.com/merbanan/rtl_433#running for details.

Please note I am just doing guess work here.

I cloned and modified the plugin pimatic-efergye2 and will try to develop my own plugin for my needs, see this thread

@axled Thank you for taking the initiative on modifying/extending the efergye2 plugin and sorry for not realizing you are about to find a solution for your Auriol sensors while the plugin is specifically for the power meter. It’ll be great if you can trun the in a more generic solution and if required I’ll be able to support this after Xmas.
