Re: Pimatic alarm system plugin

since some weeks I’m going on to use the pimatic system.
today i would try to implement the alarm-system-plugin. But, perhaps I’m to stupid, but I cant find the way to configure.

OK, in my GUI i find now the switch for alarm and alarm-system.
Activating the alarm-system I get the message:
18:06:18.295 [pimatic-alarm] info: alarm system “Alarm system” activated
That’s really nice. But that’s all.
Here the part of my config.json.

steckdose-1 is just a powerswitch with a lamp connected.
bewegung-3 is one of my move-detectors.
But, nothing happens, and I don’t know what exact should happen.

If there is someone who understood the working idea of the alarm-plugin, please help me.

I wrote the plugin, so I can at least explain what its supposed to do .

The idea was that the plugin separates between actuators and sensors. Every sensor would activate all actuators. So in your case bewegung-3 should activate steckdose-1 once it registers motion, if the alarm system is switched on.

In your case this would be a very small alarm system, but you can imagine to have a motion detector in each room, and light switches as well as smoke alarms all connected to the alarm system. This would be a decent alarm system.

Apart from that the plugin is also described here.

Does it work for you then?

thanks a lot for your explanation.

The configuration I showed was just a test for the functionality. I hoped, that it will work as you described. So in near future I plan to add 4-5 sensor for the alarm system.

Anyway,I do not understand, in which way the system is aware what is my sensor and what is my siren etc.

OK, I will try and give an new info if it will work – or not.

Anyway, thanks a lot for your explanation, I will give you next days a new status.

P.S. one additional question. Which type of sensor gave you good results? I just have some sensor in 433 Mhz with poor result, perhaps too far away. Do you have any suggestions?

Thats magic . No, the plugin recognises the type by using the class of the device: for sensors this must either derive from PresenceSensor or from ContactSensor (see the Readme.md on GitHub).

P.S. one additional question. Which type of sensor gave you good results? I just have some sensor in 433 Mhz with poor result, perhaps too far away. Do you have any suggestions?

I personally use 433 MHz sensors, too. But I have the same experience: low range

today’s update:

1. still no alarm

2. when I switch on the “Alarm system” I get the messages
   11:07:21.300 [pimatic-alarm] info: alarm system “Alarm system” activated

3. in my log-file i can see, that the switch “Alarm system” was activated. Additional I see in the GUI the device “bewegung-3” just before the switch. As I understood, that means, there was a motion in the range of bewegung-3.

4. but - nothing happened on steckdose1.

Is there anything that i can test?

for motion detector I ordered 2 weeks ago

and I’m very succeed with this. Its installed as PIR2. It’s just an RF system, so no information will be send to anycountry in the world.

@manfred Could you post the config duration of your devices bewegung-3 and steckdose1, plz? If you see the name of motion detector next to the switch of the AlarmSystem then the motion was detected and the alarm system recognised it, but the actuator didn’t work, I guess.

@manfred Looks fine to me. Can you see the actuator switching in the pimatic gui? You should see the state change here, too. Maybe it’s just the physical switch that’s not working.

@michbeck100 its configured in the GUI, but no action.
The same switch is used, when my mobile is absent. And that works. Also in the graph there is no pulse to find.
So I have no idea what is wrong. But I will include an additional switch for testing.

tomorrow there will be an new updateinfo.
