i’m searching for a solution to switch a few lights in my garage via pimatic, but also with wallswitches.
the connection from the raspi should be wired. and a ‘sync’ of the state would be nice, so i can see if the lights are on or off at the pimatic gui.
Wireless Sonoff or Shelly with tasmota. You can wire your (momentary) switch to GPIO14 or parallel to the existing button.
Wired you can use the GPIOs of the Raspberry for In and Out. The Output with a Relay.
A mix of both is also possible.
For both solutions: No 230/110 V to the switches and raspberry- or sonoff-inputs!
Is Tasmota really neccessary on the shelly switches?
Couldn’t you create a rule to get the state every 30 seconds via REST call?
I also ordered two Shelly switches yesterday and don’t want to flash Tasmota.
I don´t have shelly´s, so i can´t answer the question.
On sonoff everything runs over chinese servers, and i don´t want this, therefore tasmota.
The garage is still in rough construcion, so i can easily put cables where i want, i think a wired solution is much better and safer, (i also want to controll the door with pimatic) then wirless.
So, all i’m searching for is a 5v relay (great if i can mount it on dinrail) where i can parallel plug in some conventional wallswitches and read out the state with my pimatic.
maybe something like the relays for stairwells, dont know the english word for them, in german its called stromstoßrelais…
thanks alot guys
The shelly devices works now also with the mqtt-protokoll with the original firmware. So it isn’t nesssesarry to flash them with Tasmota.
They have also a mqtt state topic so that the switches in pimatic can be syncroniced with the shelly.
I am a big fan of the shelly devices because you can use also your wall switches.
