big trouble in little pimatic...

Came home today to find out my pimatic pi had crashed. no connection to the frontend, no ssh, nothing.

At least I made a backup of my config.json so starting from fresh wouldn’t be that hard?

But for some reason I cannot get pimatic to install again. lots of errors on installing, reading on the forum here that there are problems with node and compatibility.

Any clue what to do now? I’m not a programmer, got the whole system up and running for at least 3 years now but cannot get anything to work anymore.

I’m trying one last thing I can do myself: i’ve made a backup (early this year) of my pimatic-app folder. So i’m trying to copy that back to my raspberry, hoping to get it to work so at least i can control my lights in the house.

Anything else I can do??

@djmvt i have had zero problems when i upgraded recently…

To help you, we do need some info.
Which node are you running?
Which OS?
Which Pi?
Which pimatic version?
Possibly a log file?
Did you update the OS after installing?

Well it’s way beyond bedtime but 0.9.42 is up and running again. Tried several ways to go to 0.9.43 again but that keeps giving me a lot of errors. Wich is strange because it had worked.

Will look into it this weekend, if you have any tips to do the upgrade again I would love to hear it!

Os raspbian stretch lite latest from official site.
Pi 2b.
No extra upgrades or updates.
Pimatic 0.9.42

@djmvt without any logs or error’s it is hard to tell what could be wrong. As it seems it does run with pimatic .42, so it could be a already known issue which is here on the forum, but since i dont know which errors you get, i am unsure. So please, try .43 again, and upload the error log when you have the time

@gleno0h yeah I’m pretty sure it’s a known issue, strange thing is: I cannot get the “workaround” to install as stated in the thread about 0.9.43 and I’m sure I’ve done that before.

Haven’t done an upgrade of raspbian (other than the fresh image install), perhaps that fixes some problems. For now 0.9.42 is running (almost) fine (2 doorsensors are acting up) but I know myself: this weekend I will try to fix it again haha

@djmvt well, you should try it! I have upgraded my pi to a pi3, installed latest pi, connected my espimaticrf, and had 0 problems while the forum was flooded with problems…
