Need help by adding system information

Hello I need some help to get some informtion in my system.

If i execute following command via ssh it return all information

sudo /opt/susv/susv -status

how is thebestway to get each information line as variable saved in pimatic???

how is thebestway to get each information line as variable saved in pimatic???

If there is no buildin commands in that script you could grep and cut it to your desired output.

Here is an example for power extern line:

sudo /opt/susv/susv -status | grep "Power Extern:" | cut -c 15- | rev | cut -c 4- | rev

Which outputs: 1459.00

So i think the easiest way is to create a script with cases.

Bash maybe?
You could then “curl patch” the variable with it and then display the variable with a variable device.

Idk how your bash is though, but i can help out if needed

@temp You could do this with a shell sensor. The examples below for shell sensor items is uses linux commands to parse the data to get the required info into a variable.

You will need to use things like awk, sed and grep to parse your data.

@temp An example command for a shell sensor for power extern…

/opt/susv/susv -status | grep Extern | cut -d “:” -f2 | cut -d " " -f2
your command | filter this output (your data) on line containing Extern | filter this line containing Extern and separate this line using deliminator : , return field 2 | filter this and separate this line using deliminator “space” : , return field 2

This will return number 1459.00 which should go into a variable. You could take out the decimal with another cut.

There are probably other ways to do this but this is my suggestion. Hope it helps.

Now, create a rule:

When every 1 hour Then execute path/to/script.sh powerextern

And add a variable device with the variable you chose to update in the script.

if I write your @gally789 command
sudo /opt/susvd/susv -status | grep “Extern” | cut -d “:” -f2 | cut -d " " -f2

it returns me

  cut: Trenner muss ein einzelnes Zeichen sein 
  „cut --help“ liefert weitere Informationen.

and if i write your command @Gleno0h

 sudo /opt/susvd/susv -status | grep "Power Extern:" | cut -c 15- | rev | cut -c 7- | rev

it returns me

: 1459.00 mA

but i simply want to have with no spave at the beginning and at the end

1459.00

Gleno’s way is better.

To remove the space…
You need to pipe it into another cut using space as deliminator. Read cut --help to learn how to do this on your OS.

Something like this on end of your cmd…
| cut -d " " -f2

I realized that the command sudo /opt/susvd/susvd - status take a long time. Is it possible to write the output first in a file like
sudo /opt/susvd/susvd - status > status.txt and if this is finished and not before use your commands @Gleno0h but how do I do this?

Sorry I am not really familiar with Linux commands…:(

@temp replace sudo /opt/susv/susv -status with cat your.txt

Since i dont have that application, i used a .txt to build the cutting code, it might need adjustments.

Example on how to use cut and rev:
Lets say we want the 3 letters “sen” from the following line
This is a sentence

Cut -c 10-
(first 10 characters)

Results in:
sentence

When we rev it:
ecnetnes

Cut it again:
Cut -c 5-
Results in nes

Rev it:
Results in sen

maybe u can use jq for it.

make a device shellsensor.

add in command:

sudo /opt/susv/susv -status | jq '.Powering Source'

dunno if it works, just a brainfart

@countjuh since it isnt in json format, which jq was made for, it wont work
