Another home automation project

I use unipi 1.1 for my house automation. My hardware setup is an old core to duo pc 3ghz, 8gb ram with linuxlite os on it and pimatic. Unipi with rpi 2 and evok setup.
I used a pc cause with pimatic and a z-wave usb stick i control several devices like rip sencors, dimmer switches etc.
Unipi’s relay are used for heating, ventilation and some lights and inputs control several states of devices…1 wire is for temperature control of central boiler room, hot water, etc…

Now i want to do the same to a friends house and i’m thinking of Neuron M103.
You think it is possible to install Rasbian stretch lite, pimatic, z-wave usb stick and evok in neuron ?
What about performance ? With my current setup speed is lightning fast but i use a pc for all the rules and for the z-wave network.

Do you think neuron and rpi3 can make it ? Will i need something more for an aeotec z-stick or common install with open z-wave and pimatic plugin ?

Out of the blue it is hard to tell. I have pimatic and evok running on Raspi 2 mounted on a UniPi 1.1 board and this works well for me. Manual switching is fast, but I have not tried with complex rules so far. As you have an UniPi 1.1 board may be you can trial this yourself if you have a Raspi board at hand?! Regarding Z-Wave I have no experiences so far. Are you using the zwave-usb-plugin with pimatic on your PC? I think it should work without much performance overhead, but my recommendation is to trial this first.

Yes ! Works very good and if someone can add support for Fibaro Universal Binary Sensor the plugin would be perfect. Unfortunately i have no skills as far as comes to write even a singe line of code, so i’ll wait for someone to find the time to do it.

P.S: Pimatic really rocks ! Thank you all for your effords to make it the best open source home automation software

I gave up this idea…
I used the new rpi 3+ with a wd120gb ssd and a z-wave usb stick. For light control ikea tradfri with pimatic-tradfri and z-wave with some Door/Window sensors from Devolo. This device has a contact sensor, temperature sensor and lightness sensor included. The final setup will include Fibaro Universal Binary Sensor to add some 1wire sensors and relays for hot water temperature control and maybe a zwave thermostat for heating.

Much cheaper from neuron and almost no wires with zwave and tradfri. Working great so far but time will tell.
