log atag-one in pimatic

Hi,

I’m looking for a way to read out my atag-one thermostate.
I found an API (atag-one.jar on https://atag.one/) that reads out all data from the thermostate.

Pimatic should be very user friendly for API, but I can’t get it to work…

I would like to see some of those values the .jar generates in pimatic.
For example the temperature so I can log the temperature of the livingroom.

What is the right way to go, to get this operational?

@schoemmie the right way would be to create a plugin, but you (and i) probably dont know how.

Lets do sone testing since i dont have this thermostat, you need to do it and i will build the commands for you to use it in pimatic.

I assume you have the java file and have it working and get the json output like the website says?

Install jq;

sudo apt-get install jq

Then, try this command;

java -jar atag-one.jar | jq '.'

And then this command;

java -jar atag-one.jar | jq '.roomTemperature'

Post your output here and dont forget to remove any api key, ip address and deviceid’s!

So that seems to be working fine.

Is that sufficient to build the propper commands?

@schoemmie that is perfect indeed. Now, here are a few examples to get you started, dont forget to change /full/path/ateg-one.jar to the full path on your system (e.g /home/pi/atrg-one.jar)

Creating a field with the current temp inside your home;

Devices - Add device - Name whatever you want - Class: Shellsensor.

Attributename IndoorTemp
Command: java -jar /full/path/atag-one.jar --email xxx@mail.com --password xxx | jq ‘.roomTemperature’

Lets say you want to display the outside temperature, do the same as before but change .roomTemperature with .outsideTemperature, like this;
java -jar /full/path/atag-one.jar --email xxx@mail.com --password xxx | jq ‘.outsideTemperature’

Now add them to your frontpage and presto, there is your temperatures.

I bet you also want to control your thermostat, right?

Setup a dummy heater;
Devices - add device - name it Thermostaat - Class: DummyHeatingThermostat.

Disable everything except “guiShowTemperatureInput” put that one on yes.

Now, add the following rule to your system;

WHEN
$thermostaat.temperatureSetpoint gets updated
THEN
execute "java -jar /full/path/atag-one.jar --email user@gmail.com --password p6ssw0rd --set $thermostaat.temperatureSetpoint"

Now you should be able to also control the thermostat. Keep in mind, it is untested so let me know if something is wrong.

Unfortunatly I get 2 errors.

1):

/home/pi/pimatic-app/node_modules/pimatic-thermostaat/atag-one.jar: 2: /home/pi/pimatic-app/node_modules/pimatic-thermostaat/atag-one.jar: Syntax error: “(” unexpected

and 2):
error [pimatic-shell-execute,ShellSensor]: Error getting attribute value thermostaat-woonkamer.IndoorTemp: undefined

When I run the command in the commander it works fine.

Any idea what I’m doing wrong?

@schoemmie hmm cant see where “Syntax error: “(” unexpected” comes from. Are your command correct? Could you maybe share a screenshot of your commands, just to see that they are correct.

I have the idea that the atag-one.jar is generating something wrong. Cause in the command is no “(”.

@schoemmie i probably know what the problem is. Did you copy my code from this forum? If so, this messed up the code a bit.

If i put it in a bash script it works as expected.

I executed the command in a bash, then it works fine.
When I copy this into the pimatic commandline, it doesn’t work.

I’ve tried some different commands, but without any succes.

I manage to execute the atag-one.jar, but when it’s executed I’ll keep having the same error as above…

@schoemmie guess you should try it as a bash script. Ill give you something within an hour.

I miscopied the code, where the jave -jar was not taken into the commandline.

With adding this, it is working nicly.

I have the following error. Any ideas? It comes randomly and with almost all of my values.

When you set the temp, the api is build to reply the current room temp;

“Set the target room temperature to 20.5 degrees celsius via the ATAG One internet portal:
In case of success the response shows the current room temperature, e.g. 18.6.”

So, simply put 20 is a number, 20.0 is a string because a point is not a number but a string.

If the thermostat works, just disable logging in device settings.
