Receiver doesn't seem to work with espimaticrf

After a lot of struggles I finaly have my espimaticrf configured as node:

I connected a receiver to my node.
But I don’t receive anything with my receiver (data) connected to gpio 5 (D1).
The receiver is fed by 5v and also gnd is connected.

In the log of pimatic I see during booting in the log file:

This can’t be right I think.

@lschip it is just an unknown message because homeduino wasnt build on espimaticrf so they are unknown messages. It is just a headsup that the espimaticrf has loaded those files.

Why 5v on the receiver? I had problems using gpio5, so i used 10.

I have my receiver on gpio10, 3.3v and gnd.

Homeduino mode - receiver pin: 10 - receive action: send to pimatic

Unknown messages are nornal, here is mine after sending a command;

I tried your suggestions but then the esp died again… it did’nt come back after reboot…
So first I have to get one working again…

New try…

ESPimaticRf configured as Homeduino:

Receiver connected on GPIO 4 (D2). But no transmitter connected.
Power is connected to 3v on the homeduino. I checked the power on the receiver.

I use this receiver:

The config is:

(last line is the api key but I didn’t show it here)

But I don’t receive anything. Even tried an other receiver but still, I receive nothing.

Where am I going wrong?

@lschip hmm. Looks okay. I think you need to eliminate the receiver as a faulty one. Connect it through the raspberry and see if it works. You have the same wiring as me except i am using the opposite gnd and 3v. I am also using gpio10.

Also, enable debug on your homeduino plugin…

@Gleno0h is the normal homeduino also running on a wemos? Perhaps @lschip can try to run the standard homeduino installation just to make sure there is no problem with the espimaticrf installation even if it is not what he want to run in future.

The normal homeduino works wel when I connect this one again. No problems with that.

But I don’t know what you mean with wemos… Oh I see, I don’t have an Wemos…

Perhaps it can help, here is my config:
I have a wemos d1 mini pro running with espimaticrf. The receiver is connected with the Datapin to D3 of the ESP and in pimatic/homeduino the receiver Pin is declared to be 0.

@lschip what does ls -l /dev/serial/by-id say?

Just did ls -l /dev/serial/by-id with the old homeduino that still receives signals, the result is:

That doesn’t look good I would say?

@lschip port not opened is a bit strange and never seen that. Normally it is “Serial port is not open” but this isnt the serial port. Something is telling the homeduino this error, but it does not excist in either homeduino code and espimaticrf code. I think there is a problem with the uploaded sketch.

I think your sketch upload is faulty.

Please connect your lolin nodemcu to your computer, start arduino ide, select the correct com port (Hulpmiddelen) then click Serial monitor on the same tab. In this new window, make sure bottom right is 115200 baud, then press rst button on your board. What does it say?

It should say the following;

Your arduino should load ESPimaticRF and next to that should have rfcontrol_command.h. that is missing in your screenshot. Did you remove any code from the sketch? It shouldnt even have uploaded.

When you download espimaticrf, the rfcontrol_command.h file is there, place it in the same dir as ESPimaticRF.ino.

This is the right way to upload the esp homeduino, right?

@lschip yes. But now we know the receiver works since it receives rf in the serial monitor. Idk if that is the button to upload, i always use ctrl U.

The sketch is not the fault. Neither are the nodemcu and receiver. Somehow it doesnt go through to pimatic…

I saw in the logging that with the original and working homeduino the following:

But with the (not working) ESPimaticRF I see:

Maybe this helps to find a solution?

@lschip i have seen that indeed, the debug: data: "ACK 1023" seemd more stranger to me actually. It ACKnowledges it is receiving or sending i guess.

Does the sending actually work? Could you try that? If that works, attach the receiver to that gpio and switch the pins in the config.
