Simple relay to change my Thermostat

Hi all,

I’m new with Pimatic and I’m trying to change my old Thermostat to start using Pimatic to activate/deactivate my Heating.

The problem is that I don’t know what relay can I use. I bought a Sonoff Basic wifi but I can’t connect it to Pimatic without flashing it and I prefer not to do that.

What can I use to simple activate/deactivate my heating like my old thermostat is doing now?

a socket switch in 433 Mhz (Intertechno) or Wlan (TP-Link) is safe, easy and have a small price.

or… if you have a direct cable a simple electronic 5v relay

It has to be a relay with potential free contacts. So the regular wall switches like mentioned above will not work.

Now I’m thinking in using a simple relay bought in Amazon and try to copy and repeat the RF signal. Can this be possible?

A relay is a magnetic switch.
On one side is a coil, on the other side a contact.
If you put 5V (or whatever the relais is made for) on the coil, it will close (or open) the contact.

If you want to use a relais you need wires between your raspberry and the relais.
Or you need an electronic (like espeasy) connected to the relais

I use a simple relay from Ebay connected directly to the raspberry.

You could use an Arduino with RF but imo a better sollution is wifi.
A Nodemcu(esp8266) running espeasy or ESPimatic works perfect.

@incmve This is not possible because the thermostat and the raspberry ar quite far. I need something with rf 433 to activate the relay. I can’t believe that there is no 433 relay available for Pimatic. There are plenty on the market.

There are tons of 433Mhz Relais available on eBay.

I successfully tested a 12V one for switching my camera on and off.
