[solved]Rule with time does not work

Hi,

I created a variable and want to set the value for it via rule.
This is the variable:

	{
      "name": "camera_time",
      "value": 0
    }

and this is the rule

    {
      "id": "camera-time-on",
      "name": "camera_time_on",
      "rule": "if it is after 22:00 and it is before 07:00 then $camera_time = 1",
      "active": true,
      "logging": true
    }

I also tried “after 22:00 and before 07:00” or I used 10pm and 7am in all variations.

Anyone can help?

Sure, this works, but at the same time

[its after 07:00 or before 22:00]

works too, because every time of the day is after 07:00 or before 22:00 as it is after 22:00 or before 07:00.
I tried it at 23:44 and both rules work.

info [pimatic]: rule camera-time-off: set $camera_time to 0
23:47:23
info [pimatic]: rule camera-time-on: set $camera_time to 1
23:43:49

The rule for camera-time-off was

if [its after 07:00 or before 22:00] then $camera_time = 0

I saw this example in the pimatic rules examples:

IF it is after 06:00 and before 07:30 and pilight-thermostaat-runprogram is on
THEN $DesiredTemp = 18

So I set my rule similar to this example, but it doesn’t work.

Do you have any other idea what the error may be?

it seems to work now with these commands, don’t know why it didn’t work before:

if [ its after 22:00 and before 07:00 ] then $camera_time = 1

if [ its after 7:00 and before 22:00 ] then $camera_time = 0

So I put this topic to solved.

This term is never true. It think it must be linked with an “or” instead of an “and”.

The other rule is right.

I will see at 22:00 today, so not far away. But I see that it will be an “or”, that makes sense.
I think I understand my mistake now, my thought was that the rule would be valid from one day to the next, but then I would have to define a day, eg. after friday 22:00 and before saturday 07:00.

I hate logical errors ☺
