Pollin RF Relay Board

Hi Pimatic users,

I’m very happy that I’ve found the software Pimatic, it’s so fantastic and easy to use!

At the moment I have a Raspberry Pi 2B connected to an Arduino with the RF sender/receiver.
This setup is placed in the second floor in the house.
I can switch wireless switches and multiple IR-devices very well.

Now I want to integrate my garage door in the system too, additionally I want a second remote for the other car,
but the motor is too old, so an additional second remote doesn’t exist.
So I bought a wireless 2-channel Relayboard from Pollin. Link to shop
It is available as a 2 and 4 channel board, I have only the 2.
One of the relais is connected to the wall button of the garage door motor.
With this setup it works very well with the remote.

But I don’t get the board working with my Pimatic-Homeduino installation, neither with a protocol,
nor with a rawswitch
Now I hope that in this forum someone can help me opening and closing my door through pimatic.

well, the RF codes of the relay board are not known yet to our homeduino software.
so the cods need to be translated first.
maybe a @developer has some patience for it.
another way would be to use ESPimatic or ESPeasy and a two way relay board and of course an esp12 chip or better an wemos d1 mini
the advantage would be to have a secure way of switching your garage door - with your mobile phone and pimatic switch (best to have a wlan connection at the garage then)

the RF 433MHz connection is easy to intercept by neighbors (or other house automation users …), so your garage can be opened from another person then you !
and another thing you must keep in mind - NEVER activate both relays at once - it may damage your shutter engine!! so create rules that definitely exclude each other.

In the garage is a wlan connection, so the use of a wemos is possible.
So I think I would go with this solution.

But is it possible to have a separated remote for the second car, which controls the wemos like the remote from the relay board?
Because that would simplify the use in the car, so you do not have to open it every time with the mobile phone.
Can this be realized by another wemos as a remote?

Surely it would be nice if someone could help with the RF-board nevertheless, because of learning purposes and the use of the board in other cases.
But it has time and is not important.

well to be honest … the remote is a thing that i did not worry about in my thoughts.
it’s easier to use a remote than a smartphone, yes … i do not really have an answer on that.
you could use a 433mhz remote and rules for open / close … but what would that be then? nothing more as the 433mhz relay board with the remote that you already have.

anybody else with a practical solution on this issue?

After some search, I found out that the control of unknown devices is also possible with the rawswitch protocol instead of creating a new protocol.
Now I’ve created a rawswitch, but it still doesn’t work.
I wonder if this is caused by the wireless range of my china-rf-transmitter (which can switch the wireless plug without problems in the garage) or by the config.

Maybe someone will find the mistake…
When I switch it on, Pimatic writes “Switching on…” for some time, then the switch turn on, when switching off, the messsage doesn’t stay so long on the display.
Maybe this is caused by the rfrepeat, i need this because the relay has two modes, which can be switched by a jumper:

1. Press button 1x for on and 1x for off
2. Activate the relay for one second when the button is pressed.

I must use mode 2, because when you press the button longer, the relay will stay active and the led on the remote blinks 3 times until my motor activates.

I had no time this week, but now I’m back!
I’ve seen that Pimatic had automatically changed the config I posted above,
it has removed the comma after “15808”, I had overlooked that when I created the device.

Today I placed the Arduino send/receive station closer to the relay board with a 4m long USB cable, because the Rasperry is firmly in place in the shelf.
I hoped that the reason that it’s still not working is the bad sender.
Now the sender is closer to the relay board, but it’s still not working.

I hope that anyone here has another idea for me…
