But I think you are right in that a relais is safer than a switch.
But i cannot seem to be able to find the relay I want

• 5v (so it can be powered from USB)
• 433 Mhz superheterodyne

I don’t have experience with the programmable 433mhz receiver. but an arduino pro mini and a superheterodyne should work.

That would probably work, but I would then (as you said) also need a 433MHz receiver ans something to teach/control it with…

I would rather buy a relay with an integrated 433MHz superheterodyne receiver… Problem is that I can only find them in 12V-versions.

ebay couldn’t fulfill my needs, but this product on aliexpress looks promising.

You should use a relay.
Do you know that the power switch works with 5v? I don’t know this. The safe way is to set a relay between your receiver and the power button.

No it is a simple transistor switch. By an signal the output is set to 5v.
