[solved]slow mobile front end

Hello,
since some weeks (I haven’t counted) I have a reallly reaaaaallyy slow front end access on my mobile (doesen’t matter which browser app on android or ios). If I use my normal laptop even if it is “from outside” I have “the normal” pimatic experience?

What happend? Whats different? Any one experienced the same?

Do you use plain http or https for access from your mobile?

what do you mean with plain?

I am using always https access .

what raspbery are you using? and what is the definition of "slow"
button pressed and waiting 5 seconds for action or what exactly do you mean?
have you tried with the android or iphone app? on my android the app is reacting much faster than the mobile frontend over http access

I am using a pi 3 and I go to the address of my pimatic and than I need 1minute or so before I can scroll or do an action but if I do any action (change pages/press buttons) I need for everything more than a minute on my laptop it’s fluent

@temp oh jeez, thats messed up looks to me, also after reading your posts that somehow the mobile rendering doesnt go well.

Did you try to reinstall the pimatic-mobile-frontend?

Have you modified css,js etc?

Maybe you are loading the custom css plugin?

Also, shouldnt matter though but do you access it from external or internal ip?

@Gleno0h it’s the same from external or internal and no customs modifications haven’t reinstalled it…how can I do this correctly?

First stop pimatic
sudo service pimatic stop

Then delete the plugin folder
sudo rm -rf /home/pi/pimatic-app/node-modules/pimatic-mobile-frontend

At last restart pimatic
sudo service pimatic start

This procedure will delete the mobile frontend and after restart install and compile it again.

Let’s try to focus on the" slow mobile web frontend" issue here for now.

No it is still existing…I thought maybe the problem is the iframe and that the rule can’t execute an show the changelog

@mwittig @temp gave me access to his pimatic and i think i found the problem;

Client error: Uncaught RangeError: Array buffer allocation failed

I think this means you are using up too much memory. Are you running allot on crontab or many scripts?

According to your device info it uses 470mb minimal.

This would explain the terrible lag it produces?

Can I see what is causing this lot of memory?

Only one simple Apache Server and next loud is running

Funny thing i noticed is my chrome doesnt display my tab count anymore after accessing your system!!

I installed eveything new and memory consumption is now at ~590MB why is it that high? what is your normal memory consumption?

Bt mobile frontend still not fluent

After a while memory consumption reduces to 340mb

340 MB seems to be quite normal.
having a raspi3 with only pimatic running :

@temp @leader21 well that confirms my tought. Node is limited at 512mb. This why when using under 512mb it works, but when it is starting to write variables and peak’s above 512, it locks up.

Lets try to increase the memory limit;

whereis pimatic.js
cd location/of/pimatic.js

Then execute

node --max-old-space-size=1024 pimatic.js

1024 is the MB’s of memory to use. See if this improves usability.

It is worth mentioning that you do allot of variable writing. Many ping devices and meters that update every second.
