Request for Recommendation: 12 V LED Strip Dimmer

Hey
I am running a 12V LED strip, currently dimming it with the KaKu/Coco/Trust Smart Home ACM-LV 24. Because it is running behind a wall switch, I would love it to resume its previous level after turning the electricity on again.
I have asked Trust whether that’s somehow possible, but it’s not.
Therefore:
Can anyone here recommend me a device out of personal experience which

• is 433 Mhz RF dimmable via pimatic-homeduino
• is somewhat compact for hidden installation
• takes 12V in 12 V out (at aprox ~15W max), 1 Channel (single color LED strip)
• Resumes the power level after the 12 V input is interrupted and taken back

It is not required to have seamless dimming, so fixed steps are fine, or just “more/less” buttons would be just as okay.

I am grateful for your recommendations!

@lukx with “turning on the electricity” you mean the wall switch or when you turn it on with pimatic?

I mean, I use the wall switch to switch off the power, and then back on again.
Basically, I want to use pimatic only to select somewhere between 10-100%, while the “on/off” decision is done via mains, at the wall switch that is not integrated nor integrateable to pimatic.

what about writing the last changed dim value to a variable (lastdimlevel) and if switching on power again or lets say if starting pimatic, set the $dimlevel = $lastdimlevel via rule.
just my two cents and quick’n’dirty thought …

@leader21 Thanks for your thoughts. However, I am not taking away the Pi’s Power, just that of the dimmer (and thus of the lamp)

@lukx yeah i tought of something the same as @leader21. I have looked around and cant find a solid solution so lets hope someone has a device. Maybe you could limit the power on a Kaku awmr201?

The two wires go to your wallswitch. Did you look on our Chinese buddy Ali?

Maybe even start using milight?

what about this one : again take a variable called lastdimlevel and write the actual dimlevel to this variable when the dimlevel changes.
now at the second rule you can set the dimlevel to the lastdimlevel every x seconds if you wish to.
WHEN $acm24.dimlevel changes THEN set $lastdimlevel = $acm24.dimmlevel
WHEN every 15 seconds THEN set dimlevel of $acm24 = $lastdimlevel

so first rule you write your actual dimvalue to a variable called lastdimlevel everytimer you change your dimming.
second rule you are setting every 15 seconds the dimlevel of the ac24 to the last dimlevel that you have changed by hand.

sounds reasonable to me …

Nice suggestion @gleno0h, I used to use a very similar device (suitable for LED lamps) in my old apartment, and that was fine for the Lamp and mains layout I had there. It replaced the “mains on/off” functionality of the wall switch with a “softer” one.
Now, I have a multiway wall switch layout which is no longer supported by that device, meh.

milight would be of course an option if it resumes the level after power “outage”

@leader21 that is something I’ll work into my setup to work around for now! Thanks, great idea. I still hope for other experiences with suiteable devices, though.
