Confirmation via long press a button

Hi,
I have many buttons I am using with confirmation (press ok). This is okay and works so far, but it would be perfect to make it possible by a long press as well.
I tried it by making a rule like “When button-xy is pressed for 1000 ms then….”, but Pimatic responded that it is an event and can’t be true for 1000 ms.

Is it possible to implement something like this into all button devices?

Is this a generic button device pushed via the ui or an actual physical device that is being pushed?

@OrTiN im sure it is possible but could you please explain the benefit we would gain from a function like this?

The benefit would be that you have less clicks for a command which needs a confirmation. It is secured for accidentally touching, because it is necessary to hold the UI button, switch, dimmer for a longer time to be recognized as a knowingly execution.

Button > Long hold for a while
Switch > On/off hold for a while
Dimmer > hold in the wanted position for a while

well for accidentially activation you can set xconfirm so you will be asked if you want to switch the device.
a button press on the gui will not log the “hold down time”, so there is not possibility on that yet. pls. correct me if i am wrong.
but for me the xconfirm is the best way to prevent accidential switching.

Sure, I think it’s different from user to user. I don’t like the extra confirmation on the UI, but when it is the only way then I must use it.

@OrTiN it is more of a personal feature. Maybe you can build it yourself?

Unfortunately I have not the skills to do that.
