pimatic will not start since last (plugin) update [SOLVED]

Hi,

since a few days, pimatic will not start on my Pi3 with homeduino.
I’ve set debug to true, but even then it stops/crashes after loading the first module:

pimatic was running since autumn last year without a problem.

Hello,
just one suggestion, do you start pimatic as root?
sometimes a plugin-update wan’t a root-start…
is my experience.
After the first start you could already start a normal user…

Yes, that’s all from pimatic-daemon.log. Nothing else …

It does not work as root or normal user. The pimatic.js dies without any message (so far).

@sbe please login as root and type

pimatic.js

Copy everything from terminal to here.

It was the johnny-five plugin that stopped pimatic. After removal of this plugin (I do not use it), everything is fine.

Most likely you have updated to a new kernel version and now wiringPi is causing problems, which is used pimatic-johnny-five by way of raspi-io. I’ll create a new version of pimatic-johnny-five asap which will solve this issue as the current version of raspi-io no longer uses wiringPi.

@mwittig do you have any new’s on the new version? Is there a way to get it working, maybe by downgrading or installing wiringPi? i’d apprechiate a hint in the right direction…

@Jens-Claasen I am working on it. The functional test are going fine and the new version is a lot faster (software pwm, in particular) thanks to pigpio - wiringPi will no longer be used as part of of pimatic-johnny-five. I am struglling with an initialization problem, however, when pimatic is restarted via pimatic-mobile-frontend an unexpected exception occurs and pimatic bailds out. I’ll need some more time and black magic to get this sorted.

For info, I have released pimatic-johnny-five@0.9.12. The new version no longer uses wiringPi and should run fine with the recent kernel version. For corrected restart behaviour pimatic should also be updated to pimatic@0.9.40.
