[Solved] Logging of rules

Hi,

I wonder if it is possible to log when a rule starts (and wich one) and the result of that rule.
Reason is that if you have a lot of rules you can’t hardly see why a event has occurred.
For example if a lamp switches on I would like to see in the log why it is switched on (by remote, by which rule…).

That’s right (or just check the box “Log Action execution” in the FrontEnd)

No, thats not what I mean.
In my rules I already set “logging” to True, then the result of the rule is logged (All lights are set on).
But in the logging I can’t see which rule has set All lights on.

Ah, I can find that in pimatic-demon.log.
I didn’t know that and I meant in the event log in the webinterface.
But this is ok too.

It can also be found in the log view of the web interface, but by default, only error events will shown. Make sure to enable “info” events and the rule execution log events will displayed as shown below. So, works as designed.

you can also write to the log yourself: WHEN it is 08:00 THEN log "it is 8:00 in the morning, goodmorning sunshine!"
