Slider / Push button.

Hallo,

I am using a normal switch (button) to switch light on or off. This needs a click to shut on and another click to shut off.
There is surprisingly for me another possibility: you can switch the light on by using the left mouse button, hold it and move the mouse to on. Still holding the left mouse button down the light goes on as soon as I reach the right side of the button. As soon as I release the left button the switch (button) goes back to off and the light goes out.
Just like a slider or push button the light goes on as long as you hold down the left mouse button.

My question is:
Is it possible to have a button without the standard procedure to click for on or off. This would give a chance use a “real” push button.
Are there rules to change the behaviour of buttons?

@raspiprof You can use a ButtonsDevice to create a button and associate this to your switch using a rule. Here is my working example for switching my AVR on and off:

Btw, I can reproduce the behaviour you have with Firefox and Edge, but with Chrome it works (more or less) as it should. I think it is a browser-specific issue with the jQuery Mobile flip switch version we’re using. The current version of JQM does not show this behavior, btw.

With Firefox and Edge it works for me if I drag the mouse to the left and releasing the mouse button outside of the button area. In this case trhe switch does not flip back.

First of all thanks for your outstanding work you have done during the last years for all of us using pimatic!

Back to my problem. Your suggestion does work as a single press button for on off. Unfortunatly it does not solve my problem. Pressing the button should result in on as long as I do press the button. Whenreleasing the button - so to say realising the left mouse button, the status should go to ff again.
For me it works with chrome by moving the classical on off button with pressed left mouse and remaining within the button area.
Perhaps you do hav another idea. I will try to learn something about the “jQuery Mobile flip switch version”
