EspEasy connection refused

Hi,

I have flashed an esp8266 with EspEasy. I see the ssid and I can connect to it.
The IP adres my computer gets is 192.168.4.2.

But then opening the website 192.168.4.1 fails (connection refused).

I wonder if I am doing something stupids wrong.

Any suggestions?

Wiki states that after you connect to ESP_0 and launch a browser it should automaticly pop up. Try browsing to google.com.

It tried serveral versions of ESPEasy but I don’t get a popup.
I must do something wrong.
Offcourse I can’t go to google.com while connected to ESP_0…

I dont think you get what i mean… Ever been to a hotel with “free wifi”? After connecting to the AP and when you start browsing it welcomes you to a landing page. According to the wiki of espeasy, it should work the same.

"When a fresh ESP Easy module boots up, it has no Wifi config and it will start as an Access Point. Use a Wifi enabled device (Laptop, Tablet, Smartphone,…) to search for Wifi access and try to find an access point with the name ESP_0.
Connect to this access point with default password: configesp
Launch your internet browser and it should find the captive portal hosted by the ESP module. "

Yes, I understand it should work like you describe.
I connect to accespoint ESP_08D7D2. I get connected without a password is asked.
I tried different versions of EspEasy R74, R147 and R120. Only one of them asked for a wifi password (espconfig).
But when I start the browser, all of them refuse the connection, also when I browse to 192.168.4.1 or 192.168.4.1/admin.html the connection is refused.

I tried with to different laptops and my smartphone.

I don’t understand what is going wrong…

Please check if the numbers and letters after the ESP_0XXXXX are the last digits of the ESP MAC address, if so, you didnt flash correctly. Please see http://www.letscontrolit.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1682

Keep in mind that if you use arduinoide, you also have to check the correct versions. If compiled on 1.7.1, dont use 1.7.4 e.g

Thanks for pinting out a simular or same problem elswhere.
I’ll try to solve it with the hints mentioned there…

I always have issues with ESP’s and connecting to the AP with a windows laptop.
Try connection with a smart phone or tablet.
