Pimatic-phone update for Google Maps API

The most recent Rev. 0.9.2 of the plugin supports (reverse) geocoding through the Google Maps Geocoding API. Combined with common pimatic core components, you get a nice and powerful frontend to control and monitor your mobile device and location based rules. Together with several configuration and run time option for iOS devices and enhanced functionality through the usage of the Google Maps API one may get lost during setup. The setup outlined in the screenshot and described in the Cookbook makes it very simple to virtually move your device to any location and check your location based rules thoroughly. It would be great to get some feedback to the new features.

Hi, really interested to try this.

I’m struggling at the first hurdle tho. i’m trying to install the patched iframe plugin using the command
sudo npm install bstrebel/pimatic-iframe#develop --unsafe-perm
and it appears to install ok.

But after restarting pimatic i cant see the extra fields for the google maps API key and switch.

When i look in the plugin section of the frontend i can see iframe 0.2.0 and its activated. But obviously something is not right.

Can you help? or suggest the proper procedure to remove and install the plugin.

EDIT: nvm I was running an old version of the phone plugin. Updated and all set up. Many thanks for making this.

Hi @philicibine, pimatic-iframe is an optional extension to the pimatic-phone plugin which utilizes an iframe to display the phone location on a map. It has to be installed in addition to the iframe plugin (or vice versa). Maybe the Cookbook helps you to start from scratch while the README gives you a lot of details. My fork of the iframe plugin just adds the percentage width layout option which is independent from the phone plugin itself.
