Feature Request: Spotify plugin?

Hey guys,

is it possible to create a Spotify plugin and play music at a “Spotify connect” device like my Denon AVR? At the moment I’m using the android Spotify app at my smartphone, but it would be so much nicer to start and control Spotify from my pimatic control panel.

It would be so nice if somebody would code this.

I have been looking for something like this for a while now, but haven’t found a way to control the music playing on my receiver yet.

Closest thing I found so far is this library called spotcontrol. Maybe if you can get that to work it can be implemented in other software like pimatic?

Was looking exactly into this on the weekend.

There also is a javascript version there as an example which was converted with gopherjs so it should definitely be possible to do this.

Nice to read that somebody is into this topic. Maybe it is possible to implement spotcontrol into a nice pimatic plugin. At the beginning only with the basic features, like

• Choose and start a Spotify Connect device (like a AVR)
• Basic operations play/pause
• Switch to next/last track

In a later version it would be nice to scroll through playlists and choose tracks directly from the waitinglist.

Thats how i imaigine that plugin. For coding sadly I’m out because of missing skills.
