Brennenstuhl Brematik thermostat - no RF detected with homeduino
interesting device, a radiator thermostat based on 433MHz
so you do not get any debug on this but on other devices it works?
seems that homeduino is not able to translate into any useful information.
@leader21 yes, I successfully received unitCodes and attributes for other 433mhz devices with homeduinoRF debugging enabled.
Even with the RFSniffer I don’t receive any code when I use the radiator’s remote control.
I will try again if the remote learning mode of the radiator reveals something. If not I am going to contact Brennenstuhl.
@leader21 I have talked to the technical support of Brennenstuhl today. In contrast to their plug socket the thermostat uses a radio component from a Chinese supplier. Experience showed that it would not make sense to contact them to get the codes.
Can someone suggest a great script to sniff the radio frequency transmitted by the remote control and visualize it for transformation into binary codes?
If you don’t pick up anything with homeduino I would guess its maybe frequency modulated (FM) instead of AM.
Maybe using something like the rfm12
I finally got an email response from Brennenstuhl. They are using a rolling code for the thermostat.
However they are currently evaluating about making the protocol open source.
I have asked them to keep me updated on their decision.
