General heating schedule

Hi,

I am wondering whether you have the same issue like me. I am using several particular components to build up my own heating system per room: window contacts, thermostats, temp sensors.

For every room I need to setup several rules to achieve the following features:

• lower thermostat when window is opened
• re increase thermostat after window is closed
• different heating schedules
  • heat in the evening to 23°C at 7pm
  • lower a little bit to 21°C before at 11pm
  • lower again to 19°C in the morning at 8am

It would be nice to have more possibilities when using thermostats in pimatic. Until now I can set eco, comfy temperatures etc. But what about a heating schedule? What about temporary switch offs when window is open? What when I am on vacation for the next 3 weeks? Disabling all schedule rules of alle rooms?

Rules are really generic, but a view that shows me the schedule in a more graphic way would be easier and nicer.

I’m using mythermostat plugins and I’m very happy with that. But it could overload your config File if you use several devices.

Are you using it with pimatic v0.9? Any issues?

yes, i’m currently using it with pimatic 0.9xx. I have updated pimatic some weeks ago and didn’t have any problems by now. But i’m thinking about a change to Chronothem because it might be easier to handle the schedule.

is there a possibility the sensitivity adjust?

What do you mean with sensitivity? I’m using it with a shell script which is calculating and steering a stepper motor. I just multiply the temperature set point with a constant value and let the motor rotate by the calculated steps substracted by the actual position. So at least the constant stored in the shell script can be interpreted as sensitivity.

If you are using it with a shell script than you probably can use a second variable which might be called thermostat. current_position. If you change the thermostat.setpoint than you can check if it results into a change of direction. If it is true you can perhaps add a constant hysteresis value.

If you’re interesseted, i can pass you my script for steering a stepper motor. But there is actually no hystersis implemented.

as far as i am into it, there’s no hystheresis at the chronotherm plugin itself but you can evolve some rules for adaption i could imagine

i use the plugin to control a heatpump.
