Calculate variables

Hello,

I wanted to do a calculation with a variable and I set up this turn Heizluefter on for $zeit_heizluefter minutes

I added a variable with a value (expression gives an error) of integer(22 - $tempsensor1. temperature).

Tried it with round(22 - $tempsensor1. temperature
but the same happened : The device turned on and then immediately off again.

Surely I misunderstood the use of variables and expressions.

@Christopher-Pütz Can you please describe your scenario in some more detail? The action you have uses a variable $zeit_heizluefter minutes which I assume contains the number of minutes to turn on the heater. Now, what is the variable with the expression round(22 - $tempsensor1.temperature) good for? Do you want turn off the heater when a certain temperature has been reached?

sorry the variable $zeit_heizluefter = 22 - $tempsensor.temperature and the sense is that the heater should turn on (if triggered by PIR) for more minutes, when it is colder. The warmer it is, the less minutes it should turned on for heating. Perhaps there is something wrong with the units but I get no errors for this rule.

Seems that nobody knows anything about it or it is not possible.

@Christopher-Pütz Works for me. Did you set the type modifier to “regular expression”?

EDIT: I have also tested the rule. For this, I have changed the variable to get a result of 1. The rule turned off the device after 1 minute as expected.
