[solved]couldnt connect to homeduino device

hello !

i have a big problem.
when i restart my raspberry or only pimatic i go these errors :
error [pimatic-homeduino]: Error: Cannot open /dev/serial/by-id/usb-FTDI_FT232R_USB_UART_A104K9EH-if00-port0
10:15:15error [pimatic-homeduino]: Couldn’t connect to homeduino device: Cannot open /dev/serial/by-id/usb-FTDI_FT232R_USB_UART_A104K9EH-if00-port0

everytime.
i must restart pimatic 10, 20 , 30 times to eliminate these error.

what can i do ?

@germanuser idk but why do you use serial? Shouldnt it be ttyusb?

Please run “ls -l /dev/serial/by-id/” and post output

do you have a spare arduino to change? maybe it’s faulty?
or try serial by path or as @Gleno0h mentioned ttyUSB0 or where your device is attached to.
do you have more usb devices attached to the pi?

I use serial, because i found it here as a solution for my problem.

Only the arduino is connected via usb.

If I’m not totally wrong, this is a common issue with the FTDI-chip on the Arduino. It isn’t resetted correctly. Therefore you have to solder something on the Arduino. But I can’t remember what it was…

yes, maybe a ftdi problem.

maybe you can get your hands on another arduino with ch340 chipset to double check whether it is the arduino or not.

Yes! That’s exactly what I meant! Once had this problem, too, at work and this fixed it. Hope this will help here, too.
