[pimatic-zwave-usb] Another way to control z-wave devices
-
Great!
So OpenZwave is used to setup the network and include devices? -
@thex I use my z-wave stick for inclusion / exclusion mode (it has a button). So right now: no.
But it’s really easy implement software inclusion / exclusion. If there are people who needs this I’ll build it
-
So openZWAVE needs to be installed for the interface to the stick on the raspberry?
I’m currently using razberry but dislike having all the software with webservices, accounts and extra config running.
-
@thex yes, you need to install OpenZwave on the Raspberry Pi before you can use this plugin.
The plugin is just a bridge between the OpenZwave software and NodeJS

@Felix-Rüger Hey there, definitely a cool suggestion. I don’t have a multilevel switch myself so it will be pretty hard to test if I implement this.
At the moment I have a couple of projects which have more priority than this plugin. I’m sorry for that. I’ll definitely put this on the To-Do list and implement it when if I have some spare time.
-
@tim i had some free days and tried to figure out, how to implement the dimmer device.
My Figaro-Dimmer now works with your plugin (at least the basic dimming, power consumption is not implemented). I created a pull-request to your repo, but someone should review the code - these are my first lines of code in coffeescript (although they are just copied from the powerswitch an the generic dimmer) -
@Felix-Rüger It’s merged to master and deployed to the live environment! Could you test it again, as I don’t have any z-wave dimmer switches.
Thanks for your contribution to the plugin!
Cheers,
Tim -
@tim I’ve been away from home some days, but today I challenged to update pimatic-zwave-usb to the current version from npm. everything seems to work as expected - I’m happy

@Tim Is there any chance to add support for Fibaro Universal Binary Sensor ?
This z-wave sensor has :
2 potential-free inputs,
1 digital 1-wire input
2 potential-free outputs
4 DS18B20 sensorsThe price is affordable for what the sensor offers !
