[Pimatic-Location] How to keep app running
Hi All,
Im using Pimatic-Location with the android app, however, i normally close down all my apps once in a while.
When i do so, the location stops updating untill i start the app again. Is their any way to keep pimatic-location running in the background (Like e.g. whatsapp )?
Wait, we have a dedicated android app for location???

I don’t think this is suported by the current version of the app.
May be you can use Tasker to start the app periodically?!

Hmm, tasker loods complicated, any other app which are earlier to use?
What phone are you using? A samsung Galaxy S6 had onboard software to kill apps running for more than 3 days, but you can exclude apps in that software. Perhaps something the same on your phone?

The best way to keep an app running in the background is to use Service.
There are several examples to be found on the web but I’m not a java programmer so I can’t elaborate on that.

Hi Koffie (love your work),
i got a huawei mate 8, and turned power saving already off for the app. I however have a “human error” that always want to kill any running apps… 
I might switch over to owntracks as That Seems to keep running. Let me test That out it the next couplet of days.
ok im running Owntracks a while now but this only supports the use as a presence sensor… Would it be possible to add this as a locationdevice somehow? Or someone has any idea of a different location plugin or app to work with pimatic-location?
