Open Pimatic from homescreen IPAD & Iphone

Suddenly i’m not able to open pimatic webinterface from the homescreen using my ipad and iphone. This was working fine but today suddenly not anymore… I can open pimatic using safari and everything works fine, but if i select “add to homesrceen” and i click on the icon from my homescreen, the page loads and gives an error that it can’t open the webinterface, no connection to server possible …

I already deleted all safari cache on ipad/iphone but no matter what i do it remains broken …

Anybody suggestions?

Ah do you se the logout button?

Sometimes Pimatic wan’t to say hypocritical that you aren’t the right user. just logout and log in new and it works for me…

and try it some more times … (usually you have already done this )

Manchmal versucht Pimatic dir heuchlerisch klar zu machen, dass du dich neu einloggen musst.
Einfach ausloggen und neu einloggen…

Versuche es einige Male… (gewöhnlich hast du das ja bereits getan )

No logout button visible, can only select exit or retry. Error message has focus so cant do anything.

Also did logon again but still got the error.
When opened in safari everything works fine. This is def someting related to apple/homescreen functionality.

Hmm did you try restart your device?
Or deleting RAM-Cache? (Press Power until shutdown appears, the hold the Home-Button until you kicked backed to home screen)

Restarted iphone and cleared ram but still the error.

I also have the issue on both my ipad pro and iphone 7. Maybe icloud synced the error to the other device.
On both devices it was working fine yesterday.

Somehow there is a diff between opening pimatic in safari or using homescreen. I thought homescreen was using safari for rendering …

Working fine for me on iPhone and iPad. I had the problem sometimes after creating a new shortcut that pimatic took some minutes to load the first time after launched from the homescreen.
Are you using ssl? The certificates need to be installed on the device but if it worked before I guess this was already done.

Nog using ssl, juist plain http.

On Android devies it works fine, also in all browsers.
Only the homescreen function is broken.

@defcon I have the same experience with the ‘home screen’ option. Unfortunately I controle Pimatic via Safari, and still waiting for a solution for previous option!

Can´t agree, Have no problems on Iphone 7 Plus.

The only thing is, that it always refresh the page everytime i come back to pimatic. Also it doesn´t safe the last status.
Maybe i will fall back to android phones soon…

Same for me. I just created a new homescreen link from Safari and it’s working great.
What kind of URL are you using to access pimatic?

I will try to setup new pimatic on other raspberry to try if the problem persist.

This should not be the problem, we should investigate further what the problem is. Just installing it again might solve it for you but won’t fix the potential problem.

I’m just using the root url, http://pimatic for homescreen.

But i also tried http://pimatic/index.html or http://username:pass@pimatic
If i make a redir html file it works but then pimatic is not opening in fullscreen but in safari.

I’m using a dns service and an url like https://blah.noip.me from the popup in the screenshot it looks like the iPhone maybe can’t resolve the url from the homescreen. Have you tried something like http://pimatic.local or the IP directly?

Yes, i also tried the ip directly. I only have access from local network, I’m using VPN to access pimatic from remote.
http://pimatic.local results in the same error, first i get a login screen and after that the same message that i posted before.

It does connect at first, but then throws the error ( if i don’t have network connectivity i get an error message at the bottom of the screen)

Have you changed the URL since you first saved it as a bookmark?

I think the homescreen links still have quite some bugs with cache and the app manifest.
@sweetpi could we add some random comment to the manifest after each start of the web-gui?

(But I wouldn’t go for the hardcore solutions like resetting network settings or homescreen)

Do you use wifi extenders in your network and specifically those of tp-link?
If so, reboot that extender. tp-link extenders are known to not correctly route wifi traffic “after some time”.

Next to that: a reboot of your router, possible extender(s), switch(es) and/or homeplugs is always a good thing to do once in a while.

The homescreen link somehow works again, i connected the iphone to my macbook and opened safari in developer mode. Then i opened pimatic from my phone in safari on my macbook (develop->iphone->pimatic) and used my creds to logon into pimatic webinterface, after that i could open de homescreen link again without any error on both, my ipad and iphone.
