$99 Sevenhugs Smart Remote (WiFi, BT, Infrared): Will it work with pimatic?

How would je expect this to be Incorporated with pimatic ? Since it supports wifi, it shouldn’t be hard to talk to the pimatic API, but that could only be possible if the remote/software allows some sort of configuration for unsupported hardware/devices.

There is an SDK: https://github.com/sevenhugs/smart-remote-sdk
From their Kickstarter site:
*To Infinity And Beyond
With our open API and SDK, the possibilities for developers are endless.
Level 1 — Add New Devices (Available June 2017)
Reuse existing UI and implement functions to control new connected devices. Our open API/SDK is made in Lua and based in C/C++ and lets you easily add new devices. Developers have access to communication interfaces (Wi-Fi, BT, BLE, IR). A first version has been released here: https://github.com/sevenhugs/smart-remote-sdk
Level 2 — Unleash Smart Remote’s Full Power (Available End of 2017)
Create new use cases, gestures, screens and menus.
Gain access to a detailed specification interface (position and orientation, or specific events identified with the 9-axis accelerometer), and trigger specific actions and services.*
Device looks cool the API available is for extending the remote capabilties. I guess someone would need to write a lua plugin for the remote to operate pimatic which should be possible. However the API looks very unfinished/incomplete.
I guess that’s why they call it a “first version”

Could be a very nice, user friendly interface for pimatic.
nice toy indeed

Backed… let’s see… June 2017 delivery ( I would guess plus at least 6 months default kickstarter project delay)
Nice toy … just pointing at a device and the control screen of the remote will change to present the appropriate controls … hard to believe this will work … but even without this feature I’ll put this gadget on my wishlist

arrrghh… I missed the “cheap” slot and now would have to pay $149! Damn it!
BTW: Is there any EXISTING universal remote control that supports BT, WiFi, InfraRed and maybe even 433Mhz?
After some research I found the Logitech Companion to be an already existing alternative to the Sevenhugs remote: https://www.cnet.com/products/logitech-harmony-companion/review/
It also includes specific home automation buttons but this functionality is being criticized for being very limited to a few rather expensive devices like the Philips Hue. I wonder if there’s a hacky way to get this to work with pimatic, as it should be possible to sniff for signals in the WiFi that were meant for compatible devices and use them to trigger e.g. 433Mhz wall plugs. Any thoughts? Or should I better open a new thread on this one?
Something like the Harmony Hub exists… There is a plug-in for it and it can work (with some special) Harmony remotes via rf. So you can catch key presses in pimatic and then trigger actions.
oh, interesting - will look into that, thanks!
just replied to your question about my plugin.
Now as I read this I see that you are trying to do something the plugin currently can’t --> Controling Pimatic with the harmony remote.
Controlling other devices via the hub could work.
Oh I see. But wouldn’t it be possible to pretend I had a compatible device that also supports auto discovery in pimatic and then use the remote to trigger the auto discovery for that device?
