[Solved] Pushover use different Sounds with variable

Hello all,

I’m using Pushover to send messages to my iphone, working great! But I cannot send custom sounds with a variable. Example rule to send a message:

push title:"$Push-Title" message:"$Push-Message" priority:1 device:"$Push-Device-iPhone" sound:"$Push-Sound" -> Variable for the Title and Message are working fine. But when I add a variable to the option Sound it’s not working. When I add the sound name directly (like this sound:“alien”) it’s working.

Is it possible to add this, or am I doing something wrong here .

should be a bug in the pushover plugin…
@sweetpi could you give the rights to publish it on npm to me then I could maintain the plugin

@thex I am co-maintainer on the plugin, but I can’t change access grants, obviously. Genenerally, I am happy to take care of merging PRs and publishing the npm package if this helps.

Other notable changes: Due to changes in the underlying library, pimatic-pushover messages will no longer be augmented with the default sound parameter (“pushover” sound) if no sound has been set as part of the action. Depending on the client(s) you’re using a sound may be played though, e.g. the chrome client does.

Wow that is really great (and fast)! I’ll test it when I’m at home. Quick other question. Is it possible to add the url as an option in the rule, like url:“https://pimatic.org”? As I want to send some different url’s along with the pushmessage (like a picture when the doorbell rings from my IP camera)?

Quick edit: I just updated the plugin and restarted pimatic but now the option sound:"" isn’t working at all. Not with the variable but also not when I just type in the soundname (sound:“siren” worked before the plugin update).

You can set the callbackurl parameter as part of the rule action.

push message:"red alert" device:"pimatic" sound:"alien" callbackurl:"https://pimatic.org"

I tried the callbackurl but it’s not working for the iPhone. When I send a message via https://pushover.net/ and fill in the URL field it’s working. In the iphone app I can turn on the switch to auto open the url (that’s what I want) and with the callbackurl it does nothing.

The sound parameter is not working anymore on the iphone after the update. Can you look into this ?

Sorry, I was mistaken. The callbackurl is reserved for another purpose. I have added an additional url: parameter (to be provided after the sound parameter). Please update to pimatic-pushover@0.9.2.

Pls double-check. The changes I have done were fairly minimal.

I tried the url: function, it does sent me an url but also with the double quotes like this “https://pimatic.org/” and then pushover will not open the link.

The sound option is still not working, strange but true. It always rings the default tone.
I’m testing on the iphone only.
