Dummy Thermostat Rule doesn't work

Hello together,

if have a rule to set mode of dummy thermostat but this rule doesn’t work and i don’t understand why.

My rule:

WHEN [$SomeOneAtHome = 1 or AVR Status is present or Swen PC is present] and temperature of My Netatmo Outdoor is less than 18 °C and it is after 8:00 and before 21:00 THEN set mode of LVRHeater to “comfy” and set mode of LVRHeater to “auto”

Result:

info [pimatic]: rule heatertocomfy: set mode LVRHeater to auto
16:05:38info [pimatic]: rule heatertocomfy: set mode LVRHeater to comfy

But my Dummy LVRHeater stay on eco and auto. I don’t know why. I have all rules switchted of with eco settings and tried again but without success.

Does anybody know why?

@Swen i am not entirely sure but i think pimatic does not highlight current mode. Or maybe it does, im not 100% sure.

Try writing the current mode to a variable and see if it changes, just for testing purpose.

You mean I must set temperature what I want? No chance to simulate button push? I will try to set temperature we will see what happened.

@Swen well the buttons are “stupid”, that is why you made a rule so no need to simulate a press. I am curious if it updates a variable.

Create a variable and a rule for when you set comy let the rule set variable to comfy and see if it works.

I am so sorry i just moved and dont have my rasp running yet so i cant check anything. If no answers tomorrow i will hook it up to see if it does highlight eco.

Set Then to “set temp of LVRHeater to 21”

That seems to be working! 21 is comfy. Auto and comfy switch by itself. This buttons are not totally stupid. So I need to set a variable to make sure that manual is not activated and I must check this variable by my rule, too. Maybe this works I will give feedback here.

@Swen i guess eco gets highlighted if you are above 21.

The example i gave with a variable was to check if it updates.

I know it is possible to use the other buttons to simulate a action but i think that eco and comfy are just some sort of notification.

For the third time, it is to test if your rule works.

Because if the variable updates, and comfy is not highlighted, it is not possible.

Eco and comfy are hard coded and i think they cant be used in a rule to highlight.

Let say you set eco on 15 and comfy on 21 in your config.

You have a rule: set temp to 21. Then comfy should be highlighted. If you set it to 15, eco should be highlighted.

I dont think you can use it as following;
WHEN eco is pressed THEN set temp 15. Otherwise setting it in your config would be useless.

If economic is pressed then set temp to 15 is not needed here. In dummy thermostat do it by itself. If I can’t set then set mode to comfy and I get no error then I try to ask why? If this doesn’t work I must get en error that this doing is not well.

However, I will investigate into this and I think I will find a solution.

do not really understand or did not read thoroughly enough.
eco and comfy can be set in the dummy thermostat.

I dont think you can use it as following;

why it should be useless and not used like that? The THEN part needs to be extended with the thermostat device you want to control, then the rule makes sense to me.
WHEN eco is pressed THEN set temp of heating1 = 15
Now, if you press eco, the heating thermostat will switch to 15°C and the button will be highlited.
This is how it usually should work. Pls correct me if I am wrong or did not understand the meaning of your above conversation

Yes that earth is spinning. I want to simulate a button press to activate comfy. I use set mode to. But this doesn’t work. What I try to do now is to set temp to 21. That is my comfy temp. I think the dummy thermo will compare the temp and set to comfy and auto by itself. So that is what it looks like at the moment. The rule with temp set work at the moment but I’m not sure.

What I believe to understand that I have no chance to control this buttons economy and comfy. But then I don’t understand to set a rule and don’t get an error. If “set mode to comfy” isn’t working any i don’t get an error.

@leader21 ive stated “Let say you set eco on 15 and comfy on 21 in your config.” and this is (almost) the same as your printscreen.

Ive been unclear, non the less, it apears to be a bug.

I tought it would only highlight if eco/comfy temp is reached. Oh well
