I have a DVR Dahua that can be accessed by rtsp://…

The terminal can save a picture with the command
ffmpeg -rtsp_transport tcp -i rtsp://user:pass@192.168.1.75:554/cam/realmonitor?channel=1 -y -frames:v 1 -f image2 Door.jpg >/home/pi/Door.jpg

(image is saved - Door.jpg 31kb) ok.

The problem is when the order is entered into the rule.

WHEN
Door is open
THEN
execute “ffmpeg -rtsp_transport tcp -i rtsp://user:pass@192.168.1.75:554/cam/realmonitor?channel=1 -y -frames:v 1 -f image2 Door.jpg >/home/pi/Door.jpg”

The image is saved but no information (Door.jpg 0kb)
I do not know how to find the problem.

Hello, is it really saved?
you have two times the filename inside your code.
In my ffmpeg rule there is just one filename included.

ffmpeg -y -i 'rtsp://192.168.5.249/v04' -f image2 -vframes 1 -pix_fmt yuvj420p /home/pi/pimatic-app/node_modules/pimatic-mobile-frontend/public/img/example.jpeg 2> /dev/null

 ffmpeg -rtsp_transport tcp -i "rtsp://user:pass@192.168.1.75:554/cam/realmonitor?channel=1&subtype=1" -f segment -segment_time 10 -segment_format mp4  -reset_timestamps 1 -strftime 1 -c copy -map 0 -t 00:00:10 test-%Y%m%d-%H%M%S.mp4 

Video file is ok … /home/pi/test-20161030-165855.mp4

The problem is when the order is entered into the rule.

Dummy Switch 1 is turned on
THEN
execute “ffmpeg -rtsp_transport tcp -i ‘rtsp://user:pass@192.168.1.75:554/cam/realmonitor?channel=1&subtype=1’ -f segment -segment_time 10 -segment_format mp4 -reset_timestamps 1 -strftime 1 -c copy -map 0 -t 00:00:10 test-%Y%m%d-%H%M%S.mp4”

Wait almost 15s
No errors but appears Oops … Timeout ( video file unsaved in /home/pi)
I do not know how to find the problem.

The timeout is probably from pimatic not wanting to wait that long. You should switch from a synchronous action (this rule) to an asynchronous action: use an external script. In that case pimatic will be immediately back.
Something like

#!/bin/bash

ffmpeg -rtsp_transport tcp -i "rtsp://user:pass@192.168.1.75:554/cam/realmonitor?channel=1&subtype=1" -f segment -segment_time 10 -segment_format mp4  -reset_timestamps 1 -strftime 1 -c copy -map 0 -t 00:00:10 /home/pi/test-%Y%m%d-%H%M%S.mp4

If we call this script “save_movie.sh” and make it executable chmod +x save_movie.sh, your new rule will become:
WHEN Dummy Switch 1 is turned on THEN execute "/home/pi/save_movie.sh"
You could build in some action to report back to pimatic with some curl action posting 1 or 0 for succesful or not.
