Pimatic-iframe: Start scrolled to an absolute position

Hey Guys,

i’m currently (probably ab-)using pimatic-iframe to display the department time of our local bus company.

The mobile site i’m using for this looks like (for example) this:

I’d like to know if it would be possible (in the old “html”-iframes it was) to start at a specified position (for example 200px down from the top)?

PS: If anyone has another idea of integrating the department of busses from a page like this - let me know !

@sirhc only way i can think of is using a div. This means you have to host a html page local that loads the website and add your custom css to position it and then include your html file in the iframe.

I don’t think it is possible if you wish to integrate the site as a whole, but it should work if you manage somehow to load the monitor table without the map. as this appears to be dynamic conent you may have no luck with that. Another approach might be to grab the relevant information from the page content using a phantomjs script. See https://forum.pimatic.org/topic/371/retrieve-data-from-websites-universal-approach

@Gleno0h: I’ve tried a lot this morning with div, iframe settings and some javascripts on a html/php site i hosted at my webspace. None worked.

@mwittig: This was the first thing i was thinking about. Problem is, that when you look at the pages source code, the information about the departments are not stated in clear text (i think it’s implemented in some js as well. I always hated javascript …)

if it is js itself you might take a look at the js and how it gets the information, maybe you can access it the same way

Css or JS is the way to go!

@Gleno0h The problem is that the content @sirhc is looking for is an scollable list on the page. I don’t see how one can scroll down to the requested position when the full page is loaded into the iframe.

Would scraping the webpage Help? That way one could fetch the departuretimes and display them much like the changelog frames! Or Just as a variable with the next departuretimes…?
Python could easily do that i guess…(Mind you this Will not Have the Same looks as the original Page though…)

Here is an updated version of the jsfiddle including the link @sirhc referred to in his post. If the iframe width is set to a value which is to small to dsiplay the traffic schedule and map alltogether, the site only serves the traffic schedule. As a side effect the vertical offset causes the list to scrolldown if needed.

You are my heroes! I’ll try to integrate this in the afternoon and let you know if it worked - but the last post seems promising.

Btw: When i open this url with my mobile, OR include it with pimatic-iframe the map section is hidden! (And there’s no need for the map section … i know my area :D!)

@mwittig Thanks! Works like a charm.
Only thing missing is something like autoscaling for the iframe plugin itself. It works fine now on the desktops, but - as you can imagine not on mobile. But thats not very important, as the bus function will only be used at the “control”-tablet at the corridor.
