Getting started with development for pimatic / Arduino

Hi all.
I’m getting started with building my own (Arduino) sensors. They should connect remotely to Pimatic, using RF (for now) and later TCP/IP or others.
I’m new to piratic and arduino, but I have years of programming experience in C and Java.
No experience with coffee, besides the one that comes in a cup (lots of experience with that
My first try would be something that communicates with the homeduino.
Any good suggestion on how to get a quick start (besides studying the homeduino code?

You could start with the NewRemoteSwitch library or https://github.com/rspaargaren/RF_Transmit for arduino to send values of your sensor to Pimatic

that sound great What RF technology do you want to use?

If you want to use 433 Mhz and want to get started with 433mhz hardware development its best to take a look at

• The gerneric-rfbox from incmve
• The used processing pipeline of rfcontroljs (used by homeduino)
• and finaly the implementation of the generic protocol

If you need any help, feel free to ask. Coffeescript is hard to read, when you are used to C/Java Syntax but belief me you get addicted to it like you get addicted to coffee, if you used it for a while. Just be sure to read the manual page if there’s any syntax you don’t know.

I want to get started with the 433mhz hardware because this communicates with the homeduino.
If the p2p rf network feature request would be implemented than that would be awesome. If not than then eventually I would have to look at other options because of overcrowding the 433Mhz band and because of range issues.

I’m building my own sensor using the generic-rfbox from incmve as a starting point. I’m able to send data. Is it also possible to use this to receive data? I want to include controle of a relais.
@sweetpi Still trying to grasp the Coffeescript You’re right. As a C/Java veteran I have a hard time figuring out where things start and where it ends. Guess I’m used to the {} and () and ; a lot
