@thex: could you give me your source for the api? I really want to know if “listening” to comand changes is possible.

New Plugin for Logitech Harmony Hub
-
@thex thanks. seems there is currently no way to achieve this by the harmony API.
-
@Partovic is there a more “generic” way by setting up a fake device? Is there any smart home device supported by both the logitech harmony hub and pimatic auto discovery? I think that would be a good starting point…
EDIT: Here’s the list of supported devices: https://support.myharmony.com/en-ie/compatibility?utm_source=logitech.com&utm_medium=pdp&utm_campaign=compatibility lookup
EDIT2: IFTTT could be the backdoor we’re looking for…

played around with the API but there doesn’t seem to be a way to get the remote keys pressed the only thing we could potentially do directly with the api is requesting the currently active activity.
@merphun @Partovic
I got a bit frustrated that it looks like I can’t implement the remote-button reading so to cheer my self up a little bit I implemented a rudimentary scene/activities support for the plugin.
I just published the update to NPM would be great if you play with it and give some feedback as I don’t use the harmony activities at all. -
@thex Well, that doesn’t make your plugin less cool or useless. Controlling scenes is quite a big use case for us Thanks for your afford. I will test your updates as soon as I can.
@GuybrushMR80 yeah i thougt about the emulating thing too. Hue would be a possible device. But I dont know if that would make it better / easier. According to it, I think using LIRC would still be the best and cleanest alternative.
-
@thex your Activity Feature works successfuly discovered a “Activities” device which includes All my Set activies. Including Power Off! Pretty cool for my dashbutton mounted next to the entrance door in my flat One Click Can Switch Off All my lights and my harmony devices too right now. Good work!
-
@thex: Great work! Works perfect for me. Now I can tell my house to go into evening tv mode…heureka!
Thanks

Would be cool to have a CurrentActivity Variable to access in rules. Something like
when Activity of HarmonyBridge changes to "FireTV+Beamer" then lower Leinwand
.This should be realizeable doesn’t it?
Edit: At least, according to this https://github.com/maddox/harmony-api
-
Should be possible but I think I need to pull this as the client doesn’t get notified on changes. So there would be a delay as you should not pull this every second or so.
-
The implementation of the “Activities” is amazing!!! Works perfect. Thank you so much @thex
-
@thex yeah. Guess there has to be a polling Pattern. The Hue Bridge plugin does that too for it’s devices i think.
-
Hi,
thank you for the nice plugin. Is there a way to control the hamony hub activitiys over the rest-api from pimatic? Did you have a example for that? Is this an “action” task in the rest-api?
thanks a lot…

@thex said in New Plugin for Logitech Harmony Hub:

mhh… okay… at moment i got none … but i think about to get one…
Can you add a Screenshot from your Pimatic? I want to see what is so possible with this Plugin.
I want do stuff like this -> If Xbox present (ping) than turn on TV and Audio etc
-
you can use rules like you want to -
when XBOX is present THEN press TV on
just for example. You need to use ‘press’ like you want to acivate a button.here’s a screenshot of my harmony remote dash
the good thing is - once you have installed your hub, you can do a device discovery and all your remotes will show up in pimatic. it’s great. i have two dashes. one for all options and one just for the “favorite” buttons.

Thanks for the Screenshot…
ah okay … in Guides to the Hub there say you Add “actions” in the Hub, if see it correct Pimatic can also handle this “Actions”?
And its possible to add more than one Hub? i think for two Rooms i need two Hubs, right?
-
at the moment it’s only one hub possible as far as i see.
but you are right, if you are having several rooms you need more hubs.maybe @thex has some more information on that?
