Diskusage and updates

Hi,
im confused about pimatic diskusage… and about updates… is this behaviour normal?

my pimatic folder is 313mb… for me this sounds very big.
also, since i was following this guide to install pimatic globally, the “npm link” command bloat my pimatic install… now, everytime, when i update, there will install MANY other programs i don´t know…
just for an example… i just did an update yesterday… today i did another… this screenshot shows only a PART of the update-process:

since i´m a newbie to node, npm and javascript and so on:
when i just want to update pimatic and pimatic mail… why is there downloaded/installed that much other stuff?

btw… after installing this update… pimatic folder grew from 313mb up to 354mb… and the update process needed more then 25 minutes.

I don’t know exactly but most plugins use other node library’s to communicate.

like the pimatic-mail plugin communicates with nodemailer to mail. pimatic-mail is like a bridge between pimatic and nodemailer.

some plugins use other node programs that are loaded into each plugin folder as “module” under pimatic-app/node_modules/plugin_name/node_modules. and those modules can even use other modules so they will have an own node_modules folder and so on. so you could have a very large tree, depending on the plugin.

well, all these modules take some disk space. but generally these appr. 350 MB should not really care, even if you’re having a 4GB SD attached.

the speed of updating may also differ therefore, depending on how many modules need to be updated from the plugin tree. AND the speed depends on you hardware. I am using a Raspberry Pi 2 with quadcore and 1GB ram. the updating process needs less time than before.
