I am looking for a way to control the volume of a remote MPD install (Volumio on a second Pi in this case). I can control the playlist (next, pause play etc) from within Pimatic using the MPD plugin.
I have tried this solution (https://forum.pimatic.org/topic/713/plugin-mpd-change-volume/8) but this gives me an error back;
error [pimatic]: Error on evaluation of rule condition of rule volume-level: undefined
13:53:08error [pimatic]: rule volume-level error executing an action: undefined
13:53:08error [pimatic-shell-execute]: [ShellActionHandler] Error: Command execution failed with exit code 127 (Error: Command failed: /bin/sh: 1: mpc: not found)
My configs are;
MPD connection;
{
"id": "mpd-player",
"name": "Music",
"class": "MpdPlayer",
"host": "192.168.1.10",
"port": 6600
},
{
"class": "DummyDimmer",
"id": "volume",
"name": "Volume"
},
and rule to set volume;
{
"id": "volume-level",
"name": "Volume level",
"rule": "if $volume.dimlevel changes then execute \"mpc volume $volume.dimlevel\"",
"active": true,
"logging": true
}
I’m under the impression that this solution is for a MPD instance on the same RPi. As the rule doesn’t point to the remote Pi (on 192.168.1.10:6600).
Anyone out there with a solution?
Regards,
Ruud
