Did you reload the daemon as stated?
Or do a reboot and see if it works then

sudo pimatic.js [start|stop|status|restart]
so i can start or stop but not with the /etc/init.d/pimatic
/usr/bin/env node --version
v4.4.5
Had the same problem. My solution was to check if pimatic was running, if not, do pimatic.js. Cant Edit the config from webpage if started by daemon so yeah, better solution for me.
at the beginning i had the same problem. node was 4.xx and pimatic gives a warn that say it is v0.10.29.
so you have to do this:
Removing the old NodeJS (v0.10) installation
Check where NodeJS is installed: whereis node
. This should output the path of node (for example /usr/local/bin/node
).
Remove all binaries and the node_modules folder: sudo rm -r /usr/local/bin/node /usr/local/bin/npm /usr/local/lib/node_modules
Check that NodeJS is gone: node --version
. It should output command not found.
then install the new node like described here:
https://pimatic.org/guide/getting-started/installation/
Thx p4co86,
this worked out! I dont know what went wrong during installation due to it was a clean image…?
But I think this topic can be closed as solved.
Same problem here,
it was solved with:
curl -sL https://deb.nodesource.com/setup_4.x | sudo -E bash -
sudo apt-get install -y nodejs
I have taken a slightly different approach to daemonizing - I run things under runit, find it much much simpler http://smarden.org/runit/
Im getting the error when npm link
npm ERR! Linux 4.4.13-v7+
npm ERR! argv “/usr/local/bin/node” “/usr/local/bin/npm” "link"
npm ERR! node v4.4.5

And yes i have installed node according manual and tried all options above. none is working
I had problems with npm to.
after running
sudo apt-get remove nodejs
and
sudo rm -r /usr/local/bin/node /usr/local/bin/npm /usr/local/lib/node_modules
I managed to install it with the guide https://pimatic.org/guide/getting-started/installation/

Looks like something nasty is going here. Make sure you don’t have left overs from another nodejs installation - see earlier posts on this thread.

@mwittig Not even able to reinstall…:( i used the lite distribution of jessie. Maybe need a fresh install of the full distribution.
I am using the lite also, shouldn’t be a problem
