If still in doubt you should check your plugins if they are compatible.
then you could try to set up v0.9 on a freshly installed raspbian jessie image on another sd card.it’s some more work but so you can be sure if all works well.

@Stokstaart No reason to be scared. Make a full image backup of your current system. This way you switch back easily. If you are using a SD-card for the file system, simply get anotherone for the new setup which will allows for switch beetween old and new by simply swapping the SD card.
Nevertheless the demo should be updated, of course.
