Missing modules after restart

Hi all,
today I’ve played a little bit with my pimatic config. New devices …

After restart I found an error "Cannot find module ‘request’. So I installed it manually. After the next restart the module ‘ws’ was missing. Now the module ‘xml2js’ is missing. Now I stopped.

What is the problem?

How do you restart pimatic? May be it is a problem with access permissions?

Advisories:

• Use the service wrapper to start/stop pimatic, see https://pimatic.org/guide/getting-started/autostarting/
• Make sure you have the right node & npm versions installed -> node 0.10.29 and npm 2.15.5, To install npm 2 you can simply execute: sudo npm install -g npm@2
• Try to execute the following which will set permissions and will install missing dependencies:

sudo service pimatic stop
cd /home/pi/pimatic-app
find . -maxdepth 2 -name "package.json" -printf "%h\n" | while read line; do echo $line; cd $line; sudo chown -R root:root ./*; sudo npm install -unsafe-perm; done
sudo service pimatic start

Hi,
I installed the last missing package “xml2js” yet (before you @mwittig post) and now all is fine, no more errors.

Until now I used “sudo pimatic.js restart (or stop/start)”. After you hint I followed the “Autostarting” instruction to be able to use “sudo service pimatic start” I was not able to use the service start/stop command.
Is this the better variant as against “sudo pimatic.js restart/start/stop”?

Sorry there is one more thing you need to do. You make pimatic available globally as described in https://pimatic.org/guide/getting-started/running/

cd ./node_modules/pimatic
sudo npm link

Then pimatic can be used with:
sudo pimatic.js [start|stop|status|restart]

We’ll merge “Running” and “Autostarting” to a single page as these instructions belong together.

That I’ve already done as I installed pimatic the first time. That was/is my standard behavior until now (have a look to my previous post).
Which variant is to prefere or it doesn’t matter?
