I’m alway interested what someone else has made from his raspberry and arduino and which hardware is connected.

My setup.

Home:

Raspberry Pi 2B with Kodi and pimatic.

Controlling

5 lights
temperature sensor
pir sensor
doorbell
1 test sensor (ldr, distance, etc)

At work:

Raspberry B+ in a nice case.

Controlling

12 lights
2 electric doors
6 heatings
Heatings controlled with 2x ws0002 and max dummy.

how does pimatic and xbmc perform on one Rpi 2B?
And, where did you bought the ‘work’ case?

rpi 2b runs very nice and smooth with xbmc!

Not that much to show here - at least Pi-wise. I’m using this case: http://www.amazon.de/OneNineDesign-Raspberry-belüftet-europäische-Fertigung/dp/B00M8ZEHIQ/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1425739123&sr=8-1&keywords=raspberry+pi+b%2B+gehäuse
I’d really recommend it, because you can easily take off the top and there’s enough space to put some sensors between the Pi and the top of the case.

Since the price for a 3d-printed case for the homeduino was too expensive for my taste, I went to the local home improvement store and bought a “Elektroverteilerdose” (I don’t really know if there’s an English word for that). This thing was 79ct and it fits the homeduino, the sender, the receiver and all the cables including the antenna very well. Couldn’t imagine a cheaper and simpler version for that!

open case with:
[x] rfm12b module… connected directly with the SPI and the rfm12b-linux driver … i receive all my data from sensor nodes.
[x] fs1000a module … to switch devices on and off
[x] 16x4 LCD module with i2c … currently not working with pimatic-lcd (my pinnout from the pcf8574 to lcd not the same)

sensor nodes with:
[x] DS18b20, LDR, Attiny84, rfm12b, 3d print battery case, mini breadboard (dynamic circuit managemant) based on the tinytx sensors
[x] Sensor Data: Temp, Light LDR, Battery State in mV

PIR nodes:
[x] PIR Sensor with 3d printed case

tv switch gateway
[x] from rf to infrared (at this moment only on and off)

roller blind gateway
[x] from rf433mhz to the hand transmitter gateway for my roller blind

What frequency are you using on the RFM12B’s? 433MHz or 868MHz?
I’m because I’m starting to notice the 433MHz band getting a little crowded and am investigating to move the sensor network to the 868MHz.

@huno Nice! ik like those PIRs, i’m currently working on a battery powered pir with a attiny45/85 and 2 aaa battery’s. How much power does it draw with the pir?

I’m having issues that the internal pullup resistors draw quite a lot of power. I’m using a little switch now because i havent received my PIRs yet. Does that PIR draw power when opened or closed?

This is my test setup now.

Drawing 0,01 uA in off state and 0,098 mA when the pull-up is active.

@DavidZH 433mhz working very fine because the rfm12b working with ack support and the jeelib library
@sweebee in your picture i cannot see the pir sensor did you mean the ldr sensor?

Yesterday i order all the components for my first home made wireless temp sensor. if i have the it al working i will make some photos to share.

@Sjeff Its working great. Can’t tell much about the battery life But from my calculations it should run for more than a year, maybe 2 years with 2 aa batteries.

I dont want to interrupt your PIR-discussion, but I got some hardware to show:
Its not an ambilight so every LED is the same color but in my opinion the speakers on the top look pretty cool
With hindsight the 60 LEDs/meter were a bit too much, normally i power them like around 40%.

just a short answer (if it doesn’t help open a new threat please!!)
try to burn the arduino ide bootloader and upload the script again.
had similar issues on that and this is how i solved it!

and pls remember if doesn’t help open a new threat
