Hi!

I have an old wireless doorbell with a transmitter (remote) working at 433mhz.
I’d like to use the remote button of that doorbell to trigger an event in pimatic when pressed (i.e. i’d like to send a HTTP GET request).
how can i accomplish that?
I have homeduino setup and working.
I have created a new device in pimatic config.json but it doesn’t react.

Try to find out if the protocol is supported.

Go to Messages, Select “debug”, - “pimatic-homeduino”

What does the log say when you press the button?

I’ll post the log when i get home, however i believe the supported protocols are:
switch6 and switch8.

Switch6 has the system and program codes i added to the config.

SO this is the debug output for the homeduino-pimatic when i press the button:

try switch8 and 14 too. if it does not react, either the protocol is not supported yet or maybe the rf range between the doorbell and pimatic is too far.
what brand is the doorbell?
here’s the list of the supported protocols. switch 8 is REV and 14 is unitec. maybe this helps to determine.

emmm i believe i’m beeing misunderstood … i’m not trying to have doorbell ring when i press a button in pimatic (i’m not trying to send a command with homeduino)…
i want pimatic to do something when i press the button (i want to receive and act upon the command) i.e. i want to trigger an event/rule in pimatic when i press the button on the remote.

Its somewhat similar to what I did: I am using a remote from klikaan klikuit to actually trigger actions when my wired doorbell is pressed. So what I did is I made a homeduino RF buttons device with 1 button (in my case it is called deurbel), used the protocol I found in debugging. I also added options to this device (sending false and receiving true)
So now when someone pushes my wired bell button outside a relais is triggered wich actually shorts a button on the klikaan klikuit remote (so a command gets sent). This command triggers the “deurbel device” (button in the gui gets pushed). From there I made rules like "if deurbel is pushed then …"
This rule calls 2 hue scenes, sends a URL that triggers my hyperion Leds, triggers a webcam snapshot URL and sends a pushover message to my phone.

Of course it can trigger whatever I want it to trigger

Oh sorry. Got that wrong.
Ok what about using a rule like this if possible

IF state of Button_1 is "false" THEN do something and set state of Button_1 = "true"

But I would suggest to use switch 14 instead and revert the rule.

You can use the pimatic shell execute plugin.

I got this error tyring to set a rule:
Could not find an provider that decides next predicate of "state of Button_1 is "false"".

IF Button_1 is off THEN "do something" and after 2 seconds turn Button_1 on

edit: but be sure if you are pressing the doorbellbutton Button_1 move from on to off in pimatic

I don’t seem to be able to get pimatic to act on the fact that i pressed the button on the remote.

Trying to create a rule i get
[pimatic] error: Could not find an provider that provides the next action of "execute...
What does this mean?

the if part

Button_1 is off

the then part

after 2 seconds turn Button_1 on

Ok this works … there seems to be someting wrong with the execute part of the rule

FIgured it out … i installed the Shell-execute plugin and I would swear that there was a popup saying that it was added to config, but apparently it wasn’t … i added it via GUI and now the execute part works.

No pilight installed …

back to the button issue:
i managed to solve the problem by using the “HomeduinoRFContactSensor” however this doesn’t make sense.
I suppose i need to somehow assign the function to a ON or OFF function of a button, but how?

if the HomeduinoRFContactDevice works for you, you can use “xxx was present”

if door-contact was present then execute "curl --silent -m 3 http://192.168.0.149:8080/CMD?Light_1=OFF"
