I’m thinking about creating an iOS app for quite some time but I can’t come to a conclusion whether I should create a native application or use something like phonegap or cordova.
How do the other devs feel about this?
iOS App, Native vs. Crossplatform

I would love to have an iOS app. Maybe the mobile-frontend in a container? The benefit of this would be that the app doesn’t have to be restarted everytime i close the ‘web app’, and you can build a clean cache function or something.
Its not ideal but…
A native app would be the best, but a LOT of work i think, and a lot of work to maintain in the upcoming changes.

just have a look at the android apps for pimatic. there are 3 as far as i remember but not one of them got completed. well, they work and do some basic stuff but it’s not what a user expects when looking forward to have a pimatic app imho.
pimatic v0.9 has been released!

What features do you miss when using pimatic-hap and some HomeKit app like Elgato Eve?
pimatic-hap - pimatic HomeKit bridge
pimatic-echo - Amazon echo integration
pimatic-dash-button - Amazon dash button support
pimatic-alarm - pimatic alarm system

@michbeck100 Elgato is a terrible slow app. The ‘Home’ app works very nice, but quite expensive.
And with a native app you can look into graphs, rules, logfile. And works outside house whiteout an apple tv.
An app like the mobile frontend would be very nice. A reason why i choose for pimatic instead of domoticz is because of the interface. pimatic is very clean and easy while domoticz looks like a mess and terrible designed (90’s look lol).
For me at the moment homekit is only working in the local wifi and it is not the most reliable.
Also I don’t really like the app UI/UX, it’s not suitable for quick use.
I’m also missing some kind of dashboard, it’s fully type/room focused.
I have some crazy ideas for a really good user-interface which I guess these apps will not implement any time soon.
Just created a post covering the points which i could remember in the las 5 minutes:
