pimatic v0.9 beta / pre-release test

In the past weeks our core devs have been working very hard on the code for the upcoming v0.9. The release of v0.9 is expected to be ready in the first half of June.

As v0.9 has some major changes in code and comes up with new features, we need your help for testing and bugfixing.
We have created a group called pimatic v0.9 beta tester. This is an open group for all users who want to participate in the beta tests. Join this group and you will find a new forum category on the front page

Here we want to discuss and collect issues and other relevant matters concerning the improvement of v0.9.

So, if you participate in testing please make use of this category as communication base for everything concerning v0.9, since it may irritate all other users who are still working with the common v0.8!

All this here is not about how to install and get v0.9 to run! We are not able to give any regular support on v0.9 while it is still in pre-release state. It’s our major goal now to squash bugs and make the new version of pimatic user friendly. pimatic v0.9 as productive system will be released in June!!

click on the group button in the upper menu bar, then on the pimatic v0.9 beta test group. after that you see the green join button

Running pimatic 0.9 for exactly one month now. Working great so far. Biggest bugs are crushed. Biggest issues are the plugins right now for auto discovery and in GUI edit/add

I’m using the 9.9 beta for 3 weeks in my production system. I’m very glad that it works very well.
I hope that the WOL plugin will be ported to the 0.9 version. So that I could wake up my NAS again.

What you can do:

cd /home/pi/pimatic-beta
sudo rm -r node_modules/pimatic-wakeonlan
sudo npm install https://github.com/thost96/pimatic-wakeonlan.git

@mwittig Tested is not also pimatic-ultrasonic. Gonna make it in the coming days. Including pimatic-piblaster.

MQTT I’m developing on KVM. On it I have to use HW RPi

Note, however, I have filed another PR to add the missing destroy() method devices need to implement with pimatic 0.9. Otherwise, a warning will be logged and updating a device with device editor may not work as expected. I have also fixed the image link as the current version does not render properly on npmjs.

I’m using the pimatic version 0.9.14 beta on 2 Raspberry’s it works very well.
Using npm@2.14.7 and node@v4.2.1
pimatic-dht-sensors does not yet work with me.
