Hey guys. Maybe a general question… having a 2x relais connected to a esp12 device powered with an 5v meanwell psu and an amst1117 3.3v step down converter. The relais is powered with 5v directly from the psu.
Now having the problem that the relais is flickering (switching very fast many times for some seconds) sometimes when switching on with espimatic or powering the whole device on. Tried with a 47 nf capacitor on vcc and gnd at the relais but that made it even worse. It’s the Saint smart 2x relais. Having no other data at the moment but can post a picture of my setup later.
Anybody an idea what to do?

Ok solved the problem in taking a wemos d1 mini instead of breadboarded 12f chip. The relay is working fine now. But still I wonder why that happened.

First thought would be something with the VCC and ground not coming from the ESP board ? Did the flickering start at boot or after first use?

Did you have some catch diode above the coil?
The ESP I max is 12mA. Maybe the relais are need more current.Pimatic 0.9 i love it!

I took vcc and gnd directly from the psu And used only the gpio from the esp.
The flicketing appeared on powering the whole unit as well when switching on. Since both relays on the board had the same behaviour I guess the stepdown converter I used for the esp was either to weak or had other issues.I now ordered some ssd relais and will try to use them on my “faulty setup”

I’m using the same relay on my ESP without any issues. VSS and ground are coming straight from the (development)board.

@leader21 May be it is an issue with node-mcu firmware?!
See https://github.com/nodemcu/nodemcu-firmware/issues/421. Which GPIO Pins do you use?

I used GPIO 1 and 2 but now using 4 and 5 … It’s ok. Thank you very much

@Andi-Tudor Great, it is working fine for you now. @leader21 may be this will also help to solve the issue for your setup.

2, 4, 5, 12 for relais switching
DIN 13, CLK 14, CS 15 for LED Matrix (where 15 is CS / free to configure)
0 for dht
having gpio 16 available.so 4,5,12 should be according to the above link, maybe i will try to disconnect 2 and try without it.
well, this issue does not bother me at the moment and will investigate later.pimatic v0.9 has been released!
