For those who have double electricity tariffs. Like me.
That price is a little bit high. But I can not find in Chinese shops. Does anyone know where to get a better price ?

Well what’s the difference between single and double version? at first glance I only see an adapter board with two sensors attached that has two digital outs with two potis so for each sensor a separate way of fetching the data. for me it looks like just two single devices are put to one board just with the ir head extended over a cable.
why not replace with two single boards? space problems?

If you need to monitor a Ferraris kWh meter (the one with rotating disc) you are probably better off with a CNY70. Presumably it is possible to use the same sensor module.

EDIT: I don’t think a sensor module is required for CNY70. It is possible to wire it directly to an Arduino. See http://fritzing.org/projects/arduino-cny70-light-proximity-sensor If this is not accurate enough a schmitt trigger or comparator may be used to digitalize the sensor signal. See http://www.kreatives-chaos.com/artikel/liniensensor-mit-cny70 (In German, unfortunately).

@leader21 Just for the feeling and too little due to consumption . In a cabinet with measuring I have no electrical socket ( 230V) . I must use battery + ESP8266 (Ethernet is also missing, for now)

@wutu As a consumer, I care. For my old Ferraris meters I pay 8,80 per year and per meter. The price for a SmartMeter would be 25-40 EUR per year! Fortunately, we still have the choice in Germany (in most cases). It is cheaper for me to pimp my Ferraris meters as I have three of them

I have used the TCRT5000 for my old Ferraris meter, I didn’t have that fancy one and my meter only had one wheel.
