I have a dummythermostat with a shellSwitch device “heating” to control my central heating. The status of the shellswitch on/off is displayed in the pimatic frontend.
I want to get the status of this shellswitch via the api.
When I do: curl user:password@192.168.11.2:80/api/devices/heating
I get a long list of the device characteristics among which the “getState” which “Returns the current state of the switch”.
However, when doing something like curl user:password@192.168.11.2:80/api/devices/heating.getState
I only get “succes : true”, where I expected on/off or something like that. And the “success : true” doesn’t mean it is on as I always get that no matter the state of switch.
As background: I truly like @sweebee Sweebee’s thermostat, but I like to retrieve the heating switch state to display the fire icon from glyphicons (search on page icon-fire) between the +/- buttons in case the heating is on.
