[pimatic-hap] Support for pimatic homekit bridge

Since my first post for the pimatic-hap plugin 3 months ago already has 270 posts (and a stunning number 23.8k views, BIG THANKS for that ), i decided to start a new thread.

Before posting anything please read the README on github carefully. It contains all informations that you’ll need to install and run the plugin successfully. It even contains a Changelog .

If you have any issues with the plugin, just report them on github. I will try to solve them ASAP. Discussing these issues here just bloats the thread. It’s enough to post the link to the issue with a small description. Discussions will be happening on github then.

The latest release brings an updated dependency to hap-nodejs, which hopefully fixes the connection issues of some users.
If you were having problems, please make sure to reset everything before trying to connect. It is possible that you still won’t be able to connect, because parts to the hap-database are corrupt.

Resetting means:

• delete hap-database from pimatic root
• reset HomeKit settings on iOS
• restart pimatic and/or the whole raspberry
• restart your wifi
• restart your device

The last three steps are optional, just in case the first two steps didn’t help

how? There are no hap data in pimtic database-page?!?

@LinuxDoc just delete the folder called hap-database in your pimatic installation directory. This way the plugin creates a new database on restart of pimatic.

Just released version 0.5.6 of pimatic-hap. I hope this fixes the issue that some people are having, where the accessories aren’t available from the HomeKit App but can be still controlled with Siri.
Since its hard to reproduce these errors on my development system, I can’t say for sure that the issues are gone. But I found some missing pieces that could be helpful 😉

@michbeck100 It seems to work, I did not have any issues with Eve so far and usually it didn’t work after 2 hours or so for me. Thank you so much for this really awesome work!

@benbeton Damn, i didn’t realize that the README.md is already visible. The changes for this are not published to npm, yet. But i think i will do it today. With the next version you can use your config. Just leave it for now, as your config seems right. It’s just, that the current release doesn’t recognize it .

edit: seems to work! (installed via git repo) will do some more testing!
edit 2: is there a Service override for “Thermostats”?

@benbeton no currently there isn’t. But what would the override for thermostat be?

@michbeck100 @benbeton how do I install the Github version? I already edited the configuration.json file as I thought this feature was already active. I like to try it.

@michbeck100 I’m using z-wave Thermostats. Unfortunately Thermostat Devices are currently not supported by the plugin. So I defined them as “Dimmer Devices” (this is not the best option, but it works)

Now the Thermostats are presented through hap as a Dimmer Device, so it would be great to override these “Dimmers” in hap to Thermostats

My dimmers now seam to slide back to 0 after setting the value but they keep burning. This is both in pimatic and in eve. It looks like some interference between both pimatic-hap and the core? Does anybody else has this behaviour. I have juist update everyting to the latent official releases. No github yet for hap.

@benbeton actually the plugin supports thermostats. What plugin are you using for your z-wave devices?

@dynamite i couldn’t reproduce the error yet. Could you create an issue for this here? Please add the interesting parts of your config and a description how to reproduce the bug to the issue.

@michbeck100 The issue was already created on github? What info do you require from the config.json? Basically I have a HomeduinoRFDimmer which has this behaviour.
