hey guys!
some weeks ago I was seraching for a nodemcu. I found and ordered this ESP here at AliExpress
today i received the delivery and flashed ESPimatic to it.
the ESP module is a 12F with 4 MB Flash, so it’s perfectly for ESPimatic or other larger developments.
i flashed the device with the arduino ide 1.6.5 with these settings :
this device is splitted in two parts:
the bottom half has an ch340 chip for direct USB flashing and two buttons for reset and flash (flash is not needed when using nodemcu as reset method in arduino ide - see above)
the upper half has the esp12f module, a push button, a ldr sensor, an rgb led and a micro usb port.
the pushbutton is attached to pin4, the ldr to A0, RGB led is pin 12,13,15.
usually the 12f is powered with 3.3V but there’s an AMS1117 3v3 power regulator attached, so you can use the micro usb port for powering. there is no other function on it as far as i know by now.
as you can see on the above picture you can mount the upper half to a breadboard. the distance from left pin to right pin is 12. unfortunately for small breadboards not suitable but for a 400 pin breadboard it fits perfectly!
maybe i’ll try to tinker a little adapter pcb to flash esp01 on the bottom half if i’m bored sometime.
now waiting for ESPimatic 0.1.25 for trying out the rgb led and ldr stuff 
well by now - for 2,50 Euro it’s worth the money!
edit : I just realized - if ordering more than 2 pcs. from the above aliexpress link there will be shipping costs! bought 2 more today will order 2 more tomorrow
