[solved] Can't get value from the API

Hi,

I can’t seem to get the value of a sensor from the API. I have a WS0002 which gives me both the humidity and the temperature. Here’s the result when I try to get the values:

What am I doing wrong here?

Nothing seems wrong here. Are you sure luftdruck is the right expression?

Do you find luftdruck in http://192.168.8.5:8001/api/variables/ ?

And what does it say there

Aight, my fault. Yep, I used the wrong expression. But thanks for the URL - didn’t know that you could also get a list of all variables. That’s very handy!

Is it possible to get only the value from the API?

if you use cURL and then pipe the output couple times with grep sed and awk like this

curl -s -u user:pass http://your-pimatic/api/variables/pool_filterpumpe.state |grep value |awk {'print $2'} 

should return true,

I tried something similar, but I don’t get the value back. The return value is always empty!

My curl cammnd is this

With jq:

curl -s -u user:pwd http://ip-address/api/variables/sonos-lautstaerkenanpassung.input | jq .[].value

I get back

The value is there, but how can I avoid the last line jq: error: Cannot index boolean with string

It should be possible to use the following:

jq .variable.value

I’m sure I tried this and got no return value. But now as I tried it once more - it works!

I also want to read a variable via API.

I use the command:

curl  -s -u user:pw http://192.168.180.25:88/api/variables/strom-gesamt

I get this

{"variable":{"name":"strom-gesamt","readonly":false,"type":"value","value":534.6939999962892,"unit":""},"success":true}

But I only want the value.
I dont work with :

curl  -s -u user:pw http://192.168.180.25:88/api/variables/strom-gesamt | grep value | awk {'print $2'}  

The output is empty.

And with :

curl  -s -u user:pw http://192.168.180.25:88/api/variables/strom-gesamt | jq .variable.value

I get this error :
-bash: jq: Kommando nicht gefunden.

Did you install jq?

sudo apt-get install jq

Oh, that was the problem.

I did not think about that. Now it works
